I can't get enough entertainment out of this thread.

I just don't understand why confirmation from Ben's partner took so long? Isn't it a simple question followed by a yes or no from the partner, that would literally take a single phone call? Shouldn't the confirmation happen sometime before or during the multiple NL coaching sessions? Why did the answer only surface after all the NL coaching happened?

On the same end, if Ben was freerolling knowing that his partner was not okay with it, did Ben tell Doug it was okay to go the entire time during the NL coaching sessions? Why didn't Doug ask for confirmation of the deal before or during the NL coaching?

Who forced you to watch the 30 min video and read through this thread , also your typing is wretched and worse than reading a 18 year old dropout ranting about **** on Facebook. I wish i could get my 10 seconds back that i spent reading your garbage and replying to it.

The attempts from both to control the narrative are just ****ing nauseating. Watching people in this thread and in the comments on YouTube buy into either side without any real evidence is just depressing. Sort of encapsulates what's wrong with society in 2016. Can't believe anyone honestly thinks that Doug is doing this as anything other than a personal vendetta, regardless of veracity. I'm sure he knows about much scummier things done by other people he likes that moralise in public/on 2P2 that he's not going to spill beans on, because it's not about public service, it's about him winning.

Also I love the posts along the lines of 'obv Ben could just have called his partner immediately to confirm so it must have been a scam' - yeah OK apart from the fact that he's a human. We all put off things that we could do very easily for noooo reason all the time. I'm not saying it definitely wasn't a scam either, I'm just saying there are a lot of explanations where Ben isn't acting maliciously.

For what is supposed to be a smart community about a logic-based game some of you make a **** load of logic leaps when thinking through the evidence presented here and some more of you draw conclusions way too quickly.

For the last gd time, a poll, please, on who's right. One of these fractured egos will be completely destroyed and we can all point at the fragmented shards still vibrating on the floor and have a good chuckle.

Point out the irony if you would? I don't have a dog in this fight at all but I think two things are clear.

1. Doug has an axe to grind that goes beyond him feeling the need to make it clear to the poker community that someone who is held in high esteem by many has done something shady. As previously stated, if this were his criteria for outing people we would be hearing about a lot more people than Ben. Yes there is an assumption here that Doug knows about other scummy things that have gone on in the poker community, but given the length of his career in HSP I think that is a fairly safe assumption to make.

2. Ben not calling his partner immediately to clear coaching Doug is proof that Ben was intentionally ripping Doug off.

Like I said I find the unctuous attempts by both to win in the court of public opinion/2p2 NVG nauseating, but please tell me about this new definition of irony you have? Or do you need to improve your comprehension skills?

For example, there may have been a global telecommunications blackout 24hrs/day that lasted through all of the several days of NL training that Doug provided to Ben which prohibited Ben from communicating with his partner.
