500/1k cap - I am surprised you don't understand this. I understand that no one is making me play, but to have the audacity to pull a move like that after getting my thoughts on the subject is clearly malicious.

Our relationship, this is also not the case, as after he did screw me over in our deal I maintained a relationship with him.

I said I did not want to involve what other people have said here, only what Ben said. It is different to say "Ben said X about Y person" then to say "Y person said X about Ben". I did not throw anyone else's personal opinions on Ben under the bus here.

The night where Ben blew up on me was not "relatively standard stuff". Relatively standard stuff does not include telling people you hate people that look like them, you have more money then them, and that people like you don't have wait around for people like them.

The personal stuff I didn't even take the first shot. Ben says "Ok I guess we are going to do this" and then piles into a bunch of personal issues in regards to our story. Here he makes some stuff up, omits details, and some aspects are just lies. My first post was only dealing with our professional encounter.

I am not willing to just stand around and watch someone write up a pile of total bull**** to try to make me look bad.

Thread is entertaining, but I just have one question

How do you not simply put a pricetag to the coaching Ben received from WCG (/the the coaching WCG didn't receive from Ben). Ben pays it -> problem solved. Disagree on sum -> arbitrate. Ben refuses to pay -> then you can call him scum. Shouldn't have been that hard to solve this to begin with.

Doug, you have been great for poker, keep up the good work. You have become one of the faces of poker and the game needs more like you. With that being said I really hope you let this thread die. Your reputation is solid and this thread can't do anything but harm it at this point.

I want to address some of the general points in the thread here.

For those of you saying this should be resolved in private, I genuinely wonder what you think that looks like. Ben won't even talk to me in private, right after this event occurred and up until this point. When someone burns you in a deal and then ignores you, how exactly do you settle that in private if they won't talk to you?

As far as doing this for publicly in the way I did, I understand if anyone has a problem with that and respect that opinion. However I want people to know that this is something I had a long time to think about, and so many times at the last second I decided to not go through with it.

I think the point where I just felt like I had to say something is the OP to what has become this thread, when Ben tries to take the moral high ground on making a business deal and changing it because its convenient for you. I just can't stand to read that knowing the person he is, and just sit idly by while he got away with what happened in our deal.

I also understand where people are coming from that are saying I am just involved here because of the drama. I have been more in the spotlight lately and have had my fair share of battles. But nothing I said in any of those stories was based around private information (Tom Dwan, Jason Mercier,, etc), it was all based around public information.

If you think its not the right way to operate to put people on blast when they lie, stand up for what you think is right, and be willing to throw down on the internet; then again I understand where you are coming from. But that isn't who I am.

If anyone has questions in this thread about what happened I am more then happy to respond to them to help clear up the issue. I will be the first to admit I did not handle the situation perfectly, but as always I will be as forthright as I can to try and paint a clear picture of what has occurred here.

Whatever Ben cost Doug by not coaching him, I would say Doug cost Ben the same amount by exposing that he has some special PLO software. Who would play Ben now that the dream machine has been confirmed?

Think Doug lost all credibility when he starts talking about the personal stuff. His first line about what Ben said about Phil makes it so obvious he's trying to come up with anything to ruin his image. It has nothing to do with the business dealings and is like middle school stuff. Just start random probably fake drama so that his side of the story sounds better. You sound like a teenage girl going on about 15 minutes about personal stuff that has nothing to do with your business deal or poker. Really embarrassing for you to post that.

Also Doug you said you kept in touch with him after the initial coaching deal went south because you still thought it was beneficial for you and you might still be able to profit from him somehow in the future so Two Shae is correct when he said it didn't seem like it was just a friendship like you said. You thought you could get something out of him

Nah, this thread is brilliant for doug and comes at a very convenient time. Strangly there have been 4 years time and strangely it all blows up shortly after doug runs an education site. Doug, before bringing this to NVG, why didn't try to settle this with Ben by asking him to pay you for coaching you provided? I understand you two don't speak to each other, but you could have messaged him something like: "I want my money for coaching i did with you or i will out you as a scammer in NVG".
Personally, i think you are mad because he sat you at NLHE table and you sat out, which sparked this anger towards Ben, and understandably so. You created this thread to tell us what kind of person Ben86 is.

Easy to see why TwoShae is siding with Ben, he is also soft spoken and introverted like him and doesn't see both sides of the story. Before you get salty I am the same way. The fact of the matter is we are all biased and emotional and it takes another person with a different perspective to call you out. Doug is also being a bit of a drama queen and people who are too aggro with their beliefs and emotions (i.e. Evangelicals) just aren't liked other than those who share those same opinions.
