[*] Agree[*] In Bens response ITT he brings up that drama and basically insults Doug so he was defending his character in that video.[*] It totally is shady and this wasn't a NL game.

It is relevant to the issue at hand if Ben is going to post a story that omits important details and brings up a bunch of personal stuff (which I did not not do). If he is going to lie about how the story went down then yes, I am going to fix it.

I also do think that after discussing strategy in cap and then getting someones insights, to then sit them in that game type is unethical. This also isn't 100 bb HUNL, this is cap HUNL (Which I have never claimed to even be near one of the best in).

Those prohibitive software NDAs are a bitch.

I feel sorry for Ben86 getting picked on as a kid by Doug clones but that's no excuse for scamming, even if Doug seems to have a knack for coming off as a prick.

The Galfond reference is dumb on both parts and shouldn't be used in this at all, imo, it just shows similar weakness and unprofessionalism by both of you at/in different times and circumstances.

Most of the rest is just a long drunk story that's fairly insignificant.

Just watched the video and I felt like Doug's account of that night was accurate. Since it was so long ago I honestly can't remember anything of what was talked about in general conversation earlier in the night, cap strat or anything. So I can't confidently talk about what was discussed then. But, I remember when things got heated. Ben was very angry with Doug's claims about HU and he clearly had problems with Doug personally.

Made this account for the sole purpose to give some insight to Ben and his character from an encounter I had with him January of 2010. I sat next to Ben in a 5k 6max event, we got along, mentioned to him that my friend and I were doing a horseback trail/beach riding excursion. He laughed said he might be interested, we exchanged numbers and I busted a few levels later. I text him that night telling him the price/time and he says why the hell not, and so it was set.

Next day comes and the van comes to pick us up, he seemed excited said he hadn't ridden a horse in years, we had that in common so I guess we were a little nervous. I tried to joke around a bit telling him that the professionals ride with both legs on one side, and I hope to be that good one day. Few people laughed but I thought it was funny and thats all that matters lol. So we get to the horses, everyone gets on, and we are off. The 1st 10 min is a slow beach walk, and I'm behind Ben, and my friend behind me. I was snapping pics and videos to send to friends (this is before snapchat) and then out of nowhere Ben swings his legs to one side, and starts riding side saddle. I took a 8-10 second video of this, we had some laughs, and I put my phone away. We finish the trail and are back at the hotel bar in about 90 minutes.

This is the part that I will never forget and has truly stopped me from befriending strangers, or at least made me more wary. I pull out my phone and start showing some pictures, I told him I would text him photos of him because as he put it "my friends won't believe I did this". I get to the video of him riding side saddle. My friend and I start laughing our asses off, as you can imagine how hilarious this looks. He gets red almost immediately. "Delete that **** right now" "That is the gayest thing ever I don't know why I did it" At first I thought he was kidding, but he reassured me, "If you don't delete that I will break your phone" and he grabbed at my phone. I told him to relax, and what was the big deal. He said he was "big online" and that if the video got out people would talk ****. Looking like he was about to cry, I took my phone, deleted the video in front of him, he made sure it was fully deleted, then said "I knew something was ****ed up about you guys" and walked away.

I had only occasionally thought about that night, until I saw Doug Polks video talking about dealings with him. I would randomly google his name, and see him doing well in tournaments, online and live, and was some what happy for him getting his **** together. Now reading and hearing about him again prompted me to tell this story, and at least give another perspective of Ben Tollerene.

No clue as to why anybody thinks bringing up those instances with Ben is irrelevant or shouldn't have been said. It speaks a lot about Ben's character (if the story is true of course, but I see no reason to believe it isn't) and validates a lot of Doug's points.

Doug wasn't attempting to gain anything from this outing -- in fact quite the opposite. He knew he'd receive backlash from it but went through it anyway to make others aware and hopefully not have the same happen to them.

I think we should really be emphasizing the natures of Ben's responses, insulting Doug while trying to brush off the issue as if it was no big deal, and going as far as to prematurely "opt-out" of the conversation and sweep it under the rug. Also referring to Dougs very long response as an "essay about why we can't be friends anymore" is extremely belittling and shows how little he cares about how his actions effect Doug whatsoever.

Sitting Doug in a game after discussing in depth strategy and his view on poker/how he thinks about the game/knowing it's Dougs weakest game is unethical. Sure, it's his right, and just as much Doug can refuse the action, however to even want to try and take money from somebody who gave you that information is low.

For what it's worth it does seem like WCGRider is in the right here although a lot of it is just ridiculous drama because Ben got picked on in school and Doug reminds him of the popular kids. I might be biased as Doug seemed like a cool guy the one time we met and I enjoy his youtube channel but I figure if I was in his situation i'd be pretty pissed off about what happened too and would probably have made a big deal about it as well. It's obviously absurd to agree to a coaching for coaching deal without checking with any relevant parties that you can live up to your end of the deal and even if it's not an intentional scam and it probably wasn't, he really should have offered compensation. Screaming abuse at someone you're supposed to be friends with because you disagree with how good they are at poker is just absurd and I can't imagine any sane person doing that to anyone else, it sounds like something that drunk 1/2 fish would yell at each other in a casino at 3am on a Wednesday. I'd be interested to hear Ben's version of the events of that night as it seems like there are impartial witnesses to what happened.

Rofl @ the re-telling of what Ben said, if any of that is true his ego is hilariously massive + sounds like he does major projecting (i hate people who look like you!) lol , i don't see ben replying to this probably since he knows he looks terrible in this situation

(especially if he got that mad about looking dumb riding a horse in a video on a fun outing (if that stories true which i assume it is? why would you make that up lol))

I think what should happen now is a 7 card stud Hi/Lo battle between Doug Polk's entire bankroll for his BR challenge against Ben Trollerene and Ryan Riess. Ryan Riess also claims he is the best player in the game.

Just imagine what the victory would feel like for each player. If Ben Trollerene wins he gets to show them they aren't the freakin best and their fukcin stupid faces. If doug wins he triples his BR, he gets to claim best player in the world from Ryan Riess and gets back at ben for not giving plo coaching! and ofc if ryan wins he maintains best player in the world.

With all the info in this thread, Doug's video was Nas' Ether.

RIP Ben86. Don't bother showing up here. Anything you say will look bad from this point on.
