i understand how this can annoy you. I never use it like this. I'd just say "king" at showdown or something.
just don't think there is anything to do against this. 2pair=2pair regardless of board.

Stated before, but this isn't at all an angle, but it's the hand calling without showing that tilts me.
"I got a pair."
"Me too"
"Top pair"
"Me too"
"What's your kicker?"
OMG, show your damn cards already!

I just wait until they show their hand, no show and the pot is mine. If I want to win a pot, I show my hand. It's not that hard.

Re: View: Saying "Two Pair" at showdown with a pair on board is an angle.
rarely an angle. I usually will say it myself if I suspect my hand will not win when shown down and I want to get on to the next hand quickly.
Basically just letting the other guy know "yes your trips with a 6 kicker is good" or "yes, your turned straight is good on a paired board."
I have probably said it with hands I expect to win a fair number of times, (top pair gk, over pairs, two higher pairs than the one on the board) but with different voice inflection.
Either way, poker is a social game. If you can't be social when playing it, or if the human aspects of the game irritate you, find a different way to spend your life than sitting in card rooms getting upset over nothing.

Now, when I see someone do that, I usually say "He has two pair with the board pair" or something similar. Normally I don't say anything, as I feel it is up to the player to be able to read their hand properly, but most people that have KQ on a K3938 board don't really consider their hand as two pair. WHat are oter people's opinions on this?

So you have a problem with the player stating his hand correctly but then you have no problem violating the OPTAH by reading the board for the other player?
I think you should follow the rules and keep your mouth shut, that is my opinion on this.

What OP's talking about is more like saying "full house" with AJ on a TTTJK board.
The only people I know who do this are old live players. I wouldn't consider it an angle really, that's just how they look at the hand.

Yeah. I missed the part where he said this:

Daliman - I think that's pretty inappropriate for you to do that. You're not allowed to read the freaking board for somebody else at the table. Do you tell people, "there are 4 spades on the board. If you have a spade then you win?" or other things like that? Do you point out that 86 would make the nut-straight in this situation if somebody has it?
You should definitely shut your mouth in hands you aren't even involved in imo.
Keep in mind that I generally agree with your initial take on the players who announce "two pair."

Actually, it sounds to me like his own terrible table talk is what tilted himself.

For the 17th time, this is NOT stating your hand correctly, it is stating your hand PARTIALLY. OPTAH is not violated by announcing tabled hands, as cards speak. Maybe YOU should keep your mouth shut unless you have a clue what you are talking about.

It depends on who does it, I have only said it a few times vs players I am sure are angling. One in particular who laughed at someone who mucked the winner vs him after he called out 2 pair and chased a HUGE fish from the game will have me calling out his hand in perpetuity when he says 2 pair. Again, let's not forget, cards speak. To be clear, I actually call out their exact hand value, as in when 87 in shown on KJ844 I say, "He has eights and fours". My initial statement of what I would say was a poor one, and I would almost never say it that way. As far as telling someone if they have 86 it's a straight, etc, of course I don't say that; if they cant read their own hand, that's their problem. But if they are being manipulated into thinking their hand is no good by an angle, I have a problem with that.
P.S. I 100% expect EVERYONE to call out 2 pair in these situations vs me in the future that knows who I am. I'll just make sure that my blood is at least 8% alcohol at the 2+2 party.
