Re: View: Saying "Two Pair" at showdown with a pair on board is an angle.
so, if I'm holding JJ and the board shows JTTxx I declare a set of Jacks ?.....
So we either declare what we hold or our 5 card poker hand but nothing in the middle to please some or the others. Those are the real angle shooters.
If you can't see there is a pair on board : next time try without sunglasses.

I always call out two pair and announce my hand, if they muck not my problem, but I have seen it happen.

It is not an angle if the guy's blood is 10% alcohol.

Sure, factually, he's correct, and not lying, but really, in pretty much every case I find that they are hoping their opponent only recognizes their hand as one pair and mucks, before realizing they actually had the better 2 pair hand. Now, when I see someone do that, I usually say "He has two pair with the board pair" or something similar. Normally I don't say anything, as I feel it is up to the player to be able to read their hand properly, but most people that have KQ on a K3938 board don't really consider their hand as two pair. WHat are oter people's opinions on this?

2-1 says you mucked a better 2 pair to someone who did this, and instead of being upset with yourself for your misread, you're taking it out on everyone else.

But here's the story of the last time poker tilted me, from tuesday night, just for fun;
I was playing the 5-10 spread limit game, was up like 1500-2000 most of the night, then had a cold run where I was now down a few hundred and down to ~800 on the table. At this point I am visibly and vocally frustrated. A hand comes up where 3 people limp, and I raise KQss to 60 from the BB and get 2 callers. Flop QT3 rainbow, I bet 75, fish insta calls, other folds. Turn is a 6, I check, because I know the fish bets a huge % of the time. He bets 200, I take about 10 seconds and CRAI for 465 more. The guy then starts coffeehousing, which annoys the crap out of me too, although I usually stay silent. In the process of this, after about a minute he says I'm pretty sure I have the best hand, to which I respond, "No, you're not. If you were, you'd have called long ago". He responds, "No, I really think I do, but I'll let you have it", then he mucks face down for $465 more into ~$1200 pot, and I go even further on tilt that I wasn't annihilating the game that night. Not saying it's right, but it happens sometimes.

Maybe you should just wear headphones, or go back to online, as it seems *any* table talk (outside of your own) annoys you.

THIS 100%. Pretty typical of majority of live players to announce their hands in this manner.

Re: View: Saying "Two Pair" at showdown with a pair on board is an angle.
If someone at my table said "two pair" before I turned over my cards and announce my hand I would probably fall over with shock that they took any action at all without first seeing my reveal, staring at the board, my hand again, their hand, the board again, and of course "reading my eyes." (can they read my disdain). Anyway the action they almost always take is sheepishly setting their cards on the table, face up=winner, face down=loser.
So, yes, it would be an angle. Just like if I say, "I have pocket jacks" on a T2257 board they will try to convince the dealer that I shouldn't get credit for two pair because I didn't "claim" it. Seems harmless and noobish enough, but IMO they're degenerate scumbag retards trying to steal.
Maybe I should stop playing at the nursing home...
