Came out in several more cities. They all appear to use the same template but the local editors add their touches.

Re: Very positive Village Voice article (lengthy)

Wow. There sure are some mouthy people commenting on some of those. I posted comments on all of them. But I gotta say, there aren't very many comments by poker players and most of them are dumbasses -- like they came straight from NVG.

I hope some more grown ups will comment on the articles for which PP gave links.

Hint -- we don't need to be using the f-bomb. When I see those comments, I just want to forget about advocating for online poker. Hard to respect some people.

Article mentions trump cards. Good to know they are on board with high stakes pinochle.

Re: Very positive Village Voice/LA Weekly/etc article (lengthy)

I'm Walter Wright first player mentioned in the article . I'm not a common poster on 2+2 more often the 'other' site' I play on PokerStars as JLizard.

This is not the way I wanted to make the newspaper . Its down right embarrassing to have people in my hometown possibly reading about how I'm busto and borrowing money to get to costa rica.

I made alot of my own mistakes leading up to black friday and my situation Is for the most part nobodies fault but mine. The DOJ didnt obv help and I certainly htfd ldo.

I've moved on from the USA I don't think it will matter to me much how fast it gets regulated or what form I don't care about the poker issue much anymore. I'm not sure I will be an american in a few years atm i'm not trying to look past the next few months.

I did the interviews for the article because I thought it would be good for the more average person to know the fallout around these absurd political decisions the american governments (sliding this in the safe ports act I mean that needs to be household knowledge). Its not just a poker issue its an issue of a political system that works directly against the well being of its people in many spots.

After BF I didn't get mad at first I just rolled with the punches thought I could make it playing live and on merge. And it was close if it wasnt for one very ill timed merge check bouncing We mighta made it through. Obv no poker player should be int he spot where one payout is making the difference in their life but thats what happened. Whatever I tried and failed. I'm sure it wont be the last time.

As someone said before some good smart comments on the articles would be nice. Im about 10% as smart alot of the posters on 2+2 so I know there are some poeple who know and can speak on the topic much more intelligently that I can .

You are in good company in the article. And they spelled your name correctly.

What other option are you considering?

Yes. That is the primary benefit of the article (potentially).

Probably becoming costa rican there are no taxes on gambling here and its not that hard to get citizenship. I paid my taxes in the US , admittedly I am behind some but paying taxes to a gov't that works against me while at the same time bailing out the scumbag banking industry that destroyed the value of my home and allows them to collect bonuses at the expense or the people while doing it can go **** itself.

Sorry that was a cereus run on sentence probably but I am grinding and have a 9th grade english education level. But I assume you get the sentiment.

Is Escazú the best option? Or are there less expensive alternatives?
