As far as I know..the police are not incharge of the boxes..at least not yet.

But you could be on the retinal scanner and make up a box number. The only thing is you would need the codeword assigned to that box as well i would imagine to get keys.

Obviously you can't insure or bond things you can't value, let alone identify, so he was just putting that phrase on his signage because his little shack itself was insured for damage. I can't believe anyone would even think about using this place.

I dont think it was the owner..hes an old bird near dying anyway.

But there was a younger more slick looking guy in there..he was probably about 50's.. And another lady in there around 50.

That would be my top 2 suspects..

It really was word of mouth..no incidents in 15 years.. builds up a lot of trust I guess.

Its a very unique market needed in las vegas. Las Vegas is like no other town in regards to needing to have cash around.

Re: Very bad news - 24/7 Private Vaults in Las Vegas was robbed.

Anyway thats the extent of my knowledge in dealing with them. If you have any more questions, I will answer from what I remember.

I have to believe over 10 million and probably some would have been from some very famous people. I dont know if people would store jewelry there but it would make sense and I would think that would be insured against theft. So some reports should eventually come out.

Should be interesting now with the police involvment, high dollar amounts, IRS, etc. Could get crazy. Saddest thing, is there are victims out there that still have no idea they were robbed because this story has been so quiet.

Vegas is all about cash, blah blah blah, yeah I know Vegas. Give a few specific legit examples of this service being "needed".

Cornfield -170

I googled for lists of other private vault services in the US, there don't seem to be any in LV, and the amazing part was that not one claims to be UL-rated or independently audited for physical security.

Some poster to lasvegasadvisor claimed to work there and to also be a federal felon. The reason most employers don't hire ex-cons for positions of trust isn't some arbitrary rule, it's because of the education prisoners get while inside.

If you have a roommate or live with someone else and you bet sports.

How do you handle your amount you take from your bank on Friday and gamble with. Also what if you need to play a game on Sunday and have either lost your bankroll or doubled it?

Where do you put your money? Under your pillow? In your car? In a shoebox?

Poker players and black jack players have similiar issues.

Football starts at 10 am on Sunday. How do you get 5k to bet?

This guy is keeping his ear to the ground regarding this situation.

He will obviously be the first to hear anything.

Re: Very bad news - 24/7 Private Vaults in Las Vegas was robbed.

The number one news source for this whole event was this forum.

That should tell you something. It was a secure spot to store winnings, chips, jewelery etc..

I'm very thankful I wasn't robbed but I didn't have much in there. But it still servers their purpose.

I don't feel this rambling deserves an answer from me, good night and good luck.

LOL at a place in a mini-mall with huge signage that says "hey, in here is a **** load of untraceable cash" being secure.

Yeah its only the owners assts that are insured. Definitely misleading. It goes without saying that most businesses have their assets ínsrued and so saying this as part of their advertising is definitely very shady.
