Skews the field too dramatically. Deep pocket skilled players way more likely to rebuy than an amateur satty winner. Players may avoid sattys altogether knowing they'll have to face 4 or 5 doc sands and marchese s.

Do polls not show up via the iPad app?

Everyone should be in favor of this. If a rich fish wants to increase his chances of winning by playing insane to run up a huge stack then he increases everyone else's EV.

shows 1)how great the Bellagio and its tournaments have fallen and 2)imo ruins the tournament

If I won a seat to the event I would be much more inclined to sell it rather than play because it favors the deep bankrolled player.

I mean, if I'm Daniel Negreanu who can throw 10 re-entries into this thing like it's a $340 buy-in - he can gamble much much more than someone who can't afford even 1 re-entry. Remember, this is a $10,000 buy-in event, not exactly peanuts.

Except for the WSOP, 10K events are few and far between and to make this an 8 level re-entry tournament(at the last minute,lol) is a joke!!!

Isn't the goal to make money? Who cares about winning? If it makes people play worse you should want it.

If you won a seat or can only afford 1 buy-in, how does this give you any kind of edge against the player who shoves in consistently with a flush draw, straight draw, etc..? You might be ahead let's say with a flopped 2 pair or something but people like Negreanu will make you play for your whole tournament over and over again.

Just my opinion but I think what the Bellagio is doing really sucks.

You're not that much of a favorite and all it takes is 1 flush/straight draw to hit and you're knocked out and can't afford to put up another $10,000. Maybe you always win as a 60/65% favorite but I know I don't.

psumike, your argument might make intuitive sense but you're wrong.

if people play looser and are willing to get it in worse, your ev of the tournament can only increase, it could never decrease. there is no way your roi can be negatively affected by more players making more mistakes - even if they can buy in multiple times.

put it this way. let's say i have 2 betting units and my friend has 300. he gives me 55/45 odds in infinite coin tosses (we play until one of us goes broke). let's say we play this game multiple times. even though my friend will have way more winning sessions than i will (i will lose 2 betting units way more times than he will lose 300), my winning sessions will be way bigger than his and in the long run, if we play this game infinite times, i will come out way way ahead. this is why martingale strategy doesn't work.

I think it is a few levels too many. 5 levels is probably the right amount given the current Bellagio structure
