Its amazing how poker players seem so willing to let these scumbags off the hook. There are individuals on 2p2 that have had hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen from them on UB and they wont even donate $100 to get this video made and out these thieves? Come on guys, let's get this video made!

its not the poker players job to take care of that, its the job of the jurisdiction.

also, maybe some of those who got stolen 100k might think, negative publicity is the last thing poker needs. they wont get their money back and it certainly will not convince "joe recreational" that online poker is a good thing to try.

It is an opinion, but it cannot be correct. This suggests that it is fine for the scammers and conmen in the game to get a pass. They get to keep the money. And worst of all, they get to keep coming back with new initiatives and schemes. Trying to sweep things under the rug is exactly why they flourish. Its why Russ H owns two large houses on TPC Summerlin. Why Howard and Jesus get to keep tens of millions of dollars. Why Annie Duke has a career after going before Congress claiming players were made whole at UB. There are always folks dreaming of the next bubble who believe that hushing up the warts is somehow a positive action.

As for prosecution, there wasn't one. There wasn't even a civil case. Our film will hopefully provide a reasonable fascimile. Is Russ coming back? Probably not. But plenty of folks in the UB case are involved in companies planning to capitalize on the next wave and that can't be good for game. Companies that hold meetings to discuss liability when bad behavior is discovered take comfort that some in the community will seek to give them a pass, and in that knowledge they make decisions to do the minimum instead of what is right. These folks freerolled the poker world and received bailouts from licensing agencies, legitimate companies and players themselves. It's time to draw a line.

In the UB cheating, the KGC agreed to ~$23M though the independence and process to arrive at an appropriate calculation was severely flawed. There is hearsay evidence from the perps suggesting $40M and it is reasonable the actual number is higher than the reported number or else they would have publicly released the loss investigation reports.

Further, without a public auditor, there is little evidence the company paid out even half of the admitted $23M.

Finally, with the assistance of player reps and Paul Leggett's extensive PR, an estimated $55M went missing after Black Friday.
