Hello fellow US grinders. Happy six month anniversary of the most detrimental day in our poker lives! Whether you've started a new career, moved to a country where "free" isn't just an empty word in an anthem, or are living under a bridge and eating dumpster salvaged meals, your life has probably changed at least a little since mid April. The reason I started this thread is to find out how everyone has coped since that day. How have you managed to make lemonade from the orchard of lemons grown by the DOJ? Any input would be much appreciated, even a "Cool story, bro. GTFO."
(Apologies to mod if a similar post has been started elsewhere)
I could face charges for posting this insignia. That's because freedom isn't free.

Not that anyone should care, but I feel I owe a mention of what I've been up to since I created this thread. Not too much has changed for me since April 15th. I'm one of those unlucky "bros" with the "cool story" of having had a moderately significant bankroll on Full Tilt during Black Friday.
After months of exhaustive research into other careers and leaving the country, my brother and I have begun looking into Quebec's French homestay programs, which average around $500-$1k/month (Not bad for a room, free meals, laundry, internet, etc). "Exposure to the French language" seems like a good, if not great, excuse to gain entry into Canada. The plan is to earn, I mean "win" enough cash from poker once we're there, to enroll in full time French classes (another $500-$1k/month) and possibly transition to student visas after 6 months.
For the time being I'm back working the manual job it seemed I escaped after getting into poker, mining stone from an old quarry (seriously, it's called "bluestone quarrying"). I think I'm getting an idea of what it's like to be one of those girls who strip their way through law school, only to become disbarred lawyers that return to stripping years later, with saggy boobs the second time around.
Has this become your new home? (No hobo)
Anyway, enough about me, how have
YOU guys adjusted to life in the US after the poker apocalypse? From the guys and gals who played on Stars and got paid two weeks after "Vendredi Noir" (pardon my French) to the less fortunate who had their life's work on FTP and Cereus, I'd love to hear from you all. Looking forward to being inspired and entertained by your tales. Thanks for reading.
