Two Plus Two Receives Substantial Judgment in Intellectual Property Infringement Lawsuit
 

Hi Everyone:

Two Plus Two recently obtained a judgment from the United States District Court, District of Nevada, for $150,000.00 in statutory damages for the willful infringement of our trademark and copyrights. The judgment also includes reimbursement of our costs and attorney fees. The Defendant in the suit was Anthony Scocozzo (and/or one of his several aliases), a former member of the Two Plus Two forums, who registered a domain name containing our famous "TWO PLUS TWO" trademark and offered several of our copyrighted books for free download in the "e-book" format. We tried on numerous occasions to resolve the suit prior to litigation, but the Defendant refused to cooperate. Therefore, we had to file suit and enforce our intellectual property rights. Although we certainly don't enjoy litigation, we pursue lawsuits when we have to in order to protect ourselves from infringers. We are quite happy with the outcome and judgment in this case.

How much of that judgment do you think he will actually pay? I'm guessing 0 based upon the type of character he must be.

Something made me think of it. Don't remember what exactly. I'm sure that the mods collectively banned more than 1000 of his accounts so it's nice to see some payoff for all those mouse clicks. And at a better rate than what he was earning from his stupid google ads.

Having had my work stolen many times, I know how it is. Congratulations on prevailing and I hope he has the assets to cover the payment. What was his Two Plus Two username?

Edit: I see he had quite a few names, what was his main/most recognized one?

Looks like he got what he had coming to him. Carrying on and avoiding "cease and desist" letters from lawyers (which I assume was part of "tried on numerous occasions to resolve the suit prior to litigation") is just asinine. Even if you feel you probably aren't in the wrong, the costs of defending yourself in such a suit is prohibitively expensive.
