pretty efficient line i think, bill isnt just giving the money away like he usually does when these things come up.

Now being a professional streamer means 5-6 days a week, 10+ hrs sitting in front of the computer. Add in all the stuff Stars asks him to do, his YouTube channel, meetings with contractors / sponsors etc etc etc, he already struggles to fit everything in.

So in reality he has to quit being a professional streamer and dedicate a year of his life getting fit to win $150k.

Now, I am presuming Stars pay him quite well plus sponsors and the liklihood if he goes away from Twitch for a year very hard to get that audience back, so all in all $150k might be -EV compared to current and future earnings from being a full time streamer / youtuber / stars sponsored player.
how many subscribers does he have on twitch anyway? he could even stream his gym sessions if he really wanted to or make a youtube series about it

he should get a treadmill desk a la sulsky.

regardless it really doesn't require "serious amounts of exercise". he just needs to stop eating/drinking whatever garbage he currently is. lift weights 3-4x a week and throw in some cardio. hes not going to lose 4lbs a week for the whole year lol.

9 months in throw in a thermogenic fat burner for the stretch run

meanwhile matty needs to be drinking all of the whole milk, greek yogurt, nutella, peanut butter, steak, eggs, pasta, ice cream etc. a year long dirty bulk
0 cardio and start doing 5x5 routine.

the problem is i suspect matty is going to be afraid of gaining fat (which he shouldnt be)

Not sure Stars (who I presume is where the bulk of his income is derived from) will be happy to not have him streaming poker around the clock. And "IRL" gym sessions on twitch don't do well, certainly not long term. Who wants to watch an out of shape guy work out in the gym, certianly not the 1000-2000 viewers he gets for poker.

Unless Matty is going to get really fat, Jaime is going to have to lose 150 pounds. Hard to believe you lose that kind of weight in one year by just calorie restriction while continuing unhealthy work life of sitting at your desk 16hrs a day.

Matty should also consider hiring olivier busquet's Kazakhstan trainer and have him provide some creatine

the dude is a twig and weighs 135. his goal should be to weigh ~195 and then he can worry about cutting once he makes the 75k.

and ofc no one wants to watch him stream a gym session. i was just throwing that out there.

i do think a youtube series could be viable tho if he hyped it up. etc etc

So Jaime still have to lose about 120 pounds. So still 2-3 pounds a week.

If you sole goal was to lose that weight, definitely doable with motivation and right help, but trying to do it while doing the twitch / youtube / social media thing 16hrs a day, seems like Perkins has way the best of it.

And is 150k or more likely the 75k, +EV against screwing your Twitch brand / possibly losing your Stars sponsorship for not producing enough content, etc etc etc. Seems like a bad bet to me.

well that is up to jaime to decide. but that is why Matty is a crucial part in this and needs to turn into a beast beefmode.

and its not like he still won't be able to stream. he can just shorten his streams/ or switch to cash games (lol donkaments)

and besides im sure jaime can hire someone to manage his youtube account or whatever. i just looked and its mostly just compilations from his streams. (i have no clue who would ever want to watch his content)

and like i said a treadmill desk would be +++++ev for him

if anything stars should be supporting him through this. having a 300lb whale as the face of your twitch platform isn't the best look

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

Not sure how tall matt is but for someone who I don't think has ever done serious weight lifting it wouldn't be crazy for him to gain 40-50 lbs in a year of working out 4-5 times a week + eating all the protein / healthy fats etc possible. He can do it without going hard on the cheeseburger grind, but if he does the weight lifting + protein + any junk food he wants he can easily get 50+ lbs. Jaimes first ~70 lbs should just fall off if he does any sort of exercise ~5 days a week + has zero junk food, only drinks water or black coffee/tea, cut down on too many bread heavy meals. After that he could get more strict a few months in.

Perkins got by faaar the better side of this bet, even 100-1 would be good for Perkins. They have to be +/-1 lb exactly in exactly a year on the day. That is such a small margin of error.

Absolutely. Think how hard it is for fighters have to cut to an exact weight on an exact day.

Now rather than having a guaranteed static weight you have to hit, both sides of the equation are basically "moving" and from large distances. Even if Jaime and Matt calculate what the weight both should aim for, very difficult for both to hit it on the correct day.

1 pound is absolutely no margin for error at all.

That's the least of their worries and weight can be manipulated come time of weigh in.

I also suspect BP isn't gonna be stickler if they are 2-3lbs different instead of 1

exactly, bill didn't do this to make $3k , like he said on joeys podcast he likes doing prop bets that will leave people better afterwards than they were before, win or lose. Such as the rast bike bet, byron kaverman triatholon bet , some other ones he mentioned that I cannot remember.

If Jaime gets even to under 215 lbs he will gain years on his life and feel a hell of a lot better. For matt it's motivation for him to gain muscle and get more in shape or active as well. If they happen to win the bet and get $150k its a huge boost to their net worth as well , but it's a win win no matter what as long as they don't give up on the bet

people of jaimes size can drop 50 pounds in a matter of months. add to the fact they each can de and rehydrate 15 pounds each in the last day or so, and i think this is pretty doable.

Forget to mention that sad if money is the only motivation to get yourself into somekind of shape. Being healthy is so much +ev in the long run in life generally.

Jaime basically paid 3k for the publicity followed by a mini you tube series that documents the excuses on why he was not able to complete the challenge

Pretty much this. He makes so many excuses already.
He has tried to lose weight at least 10 times in the last year. Hired personal trainers, chefs etc and still put on weight. He drinks diet coke daily and he actually has said he has done studies on it and it not actually bad for you.
Even in poker his play has got worse and he makes excuses that he doesnt have enough time to study etc. He makes so many excuses which wont help with this bet. He also gets sick least once a month. His mindset will be his undoing. He finds excuses for every failing. He has to be 100 to 1 to win this bet

No chance at all. Perkins should have left Matt out of this bet to give stapler a shot at winning.

No way its a bad bet for Jamie. Even if he fails he has the added bonus of not only improving the quality of his life but adding years on to it. There is far more to life than money but even still losing a **** ton of weight more will make him more attractive to sponsors even if he is putting in less volume.

I dont even think Perkins has made this bet to make money I think he is a nice guy who is trying to help out his mates. IMO this is a win win For Jamie.

I have the same body type(not sure about height though) as matt, at 175lbs i look 200~. For him gaining weight even in muscle up to 200 he would have to be a goddamn mountain of steroid juice.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

some people have a hard time putting on weight. im 5'8" 120lbs and if i eat a bunch of fatty food i just break out really bad and dont really gain weight (except a pound of acne on my face) so i eat very healthy. also im not really interested in gaining a bunch of muscle. i walk a lot for exercise and do pushups (i can do a handstand pushup so im not a weakling). i think gaining a bunch of muscle just puts extra strain on your heart. i think guys who go to the gym all the time to bulk up are dummies. so i dont think matt will be able to gain more than 30 lbs.

and i dont think jaime has much of a shot here. he's a young guy and has probably never been skinny in his life. that means a lifetime of bad habits and lack of discipline he doesnt know how hard its going to be. at most i think he might lose 60-80 lbs and thats only if he tries hard, doesnt eat one donut all year. i hope he loses a lot of weight though for his sake. and he needs to quit vaping too that aint good for you either. popcorn lung.

cool story.
But those same people have no idea what they are doing. They think adding one protein shake per day, doing curls and smith machine squats will suddenly make them yoked. And then in 2 weeks when they haven't gained shiit they moan how they are a hard gainer and stop. These same people do a bunch of cardio while trying to gain weight. Or they are scared of "putting on fat".

It shouldn't be easy or fun. Eating/sleeping/lifting are all super important.
We are talking 3500+cals a day. 5+ meals. 5 eggs for breakfast, toast, and scoop of peanut butter. It's not supposed to feel comfortable. And then when you do workout 3/4x a week you focus on compound movements. Squat/Dl/bench/press/clean etc. 3x5 or 5x5

I bet you haven't eaten 5 eggs in a whole week let alone one morning.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

good luck on the weight loss jamie.

id actually recommend Jamie not even worry about exercise right now. <gasssp>

Not to be insulting to Jamie (gl bro) but he either has a hard time controlling himself or planing smart when it comes to food. So now we are going to add in big (even moderate) amounts of new exercise that hes not usually doing? Hes going to be ravenously hungry and eat back all or more calories than he lost during exercise. That pattern can be very depressing and negatively impact his progress. He needs to figure out a realistic meal plan and work on sticking to that first imo.

can we post names of free apps here? is so...

hey Jamie get mapmywalk (free), myfitnesspal(free), get a food scale, prep your meals, and figure out your TDEE/BMR.
