not all carbs are the same smart guy.
1/2 cup oatmeal=150 cals
1 banana=100 cals
1 potato=160 cals
100 grams romaine lettuce=16 cals
1cup of pineapple=80cals
10oz minestrone soup=200cals
1piece of chocolate cake=550cals
give him 2 potatoes and 20oz of soup and thats 1200 calories. add in fruit in between meals as snacks for another 300cals maybe. ive never bothered to count calories or had to watch my weight so im not an expert but im guessing my diet suggestion is both healthy and would result in weight loss.
