The bet with Jamie is going to be interesting to see in even 1 month. By then you should start seeing real changes. All he's gotta do is work on it EVERY DAY. How? Well that is up to him as there are so many ways. As long as Jamie just does it every day then he can do it, but then that's just my opinion.

Also he has to get mad, or sad about how he is now and be frank about himself. Because the whole "Oh hey guys Jamie here!" positivity will never provide enough push for him to lose weight.

So it's neat to be able to watch someone in the midst of a transformation. Jaime must want everybody to watch the vids personally, so maybe shouldn't mention too many details - but enjoyed the updates of this stuff on these videos:

Mental Game Stuff
Food, Portions

Lots of pretty shots of Vienna too. Also a shot of Matt's diet - looks like he was eating a pan full of fries ... as an after dinner snack?

If Jamie goes on a 1 year naked and afraid episode he will win the bet for sure.

Home made fries is a terrible bulking choice. It's basically white potato (which is one of the most satiating carbohydrate foods there is) with a little added fats. I eat fries like that while dieting.

Dude needs to make better (well, worse, heh) food choices. Have some ****ing cake. Like, literally cake. Rinse it down with a jar of nutella in a blender with some milk and bananas.

edit: yelled "nooooo" straight out when Jaime put NUTS in his shake in the latest vlog. Great video btw, but DONT PUT NUTS IN THE SMOOTHIE JFC

Repeat after me: calories. calories. calories is what is important. calories. it's about calories. don't put nuts in smoothies. calories. important notice: It's about the calories. Energy balancey.

Easiest bulking choice is eating those large pots(1L ?) of fruit yogurts.

1000 calories/day, no exceptions, is how a large friend of mine lost 100 pounds in a little over 8 months (and he did not exercise beyond walking and taking the stairs when an elevator/escalator was an option) so this bet is very winnable if he doesn't complicate things.

Jamie, consume 1000/day and drink water when you're hungry. Simple.

^^ This.

Those nuts and that protein shake in smoothies are probably the worst for this challenge. Bite the bullet and start counting calories.

That's a lot worse than being as fat as he is.

He just needs to drops to 1k cal under maintenance(until he reaches 230~lbs) and eat more veggies/fruits.. not idiotic shakes with lactose protein + 8 raspberries.

It just struck me that both of them might not even be counting macros/calories. Which if it's the case is unexcusably idiotic. Jamie should go a bit more indepth about their planned approach for this in a vlog.

Poverty macros over a long period of time simply won't work. I'm calling serious bs on that 1000 cals fat guy diet over 8 months.

Yeh wtf, 1k cals is nothing especially for a fatty

Jaime is counting calories, he said he had 400 cals in his smoothie, and I'm fairly certain he's talked about cals/day in his vlogs a few times.

I don't want to get caught up in the debate about the best way to do this (tho my advice could never be worse than a guy 10 posts up that says someone like Jaime who has been overeating for years "just needs to eat 1k cals a day every day for a year"), but protein powder & ketosis is not the way for him to succeed. Even if he wanted to do keto, have bacon and eggs* for breakfast man, not berry protein shakes!

* before anyone scoffs at eating bacon and eggs for breakfast and losing weight, keto is 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs, and when done properly is ****ing effective.

Watching his vlog every day, he's off to a good start, but when the motivation goes and the cravings kick in is when it's going to be super tough. Hopefully he stays motivated!

If you have Amazon Prime (which happens to be a great service that I highly recommend), you can select one channel on Twitch to subscribe to at no cost.

Can't remember, does Twitch have a special button for Amazon Prime customers to press in the subscription section, or do things have to be set up first here?

+1 to RFLH by Lyle Mcdonald. Would be the wisest approach. Actually the wisest approach would be getting a well-respected coach (well-respected as in the online nutrition world, not some jacked dude on instagram), for both Jaime and the brother.

This is not correct, especially not for a obese person. Those are the ones who can get away with large deficits easily. You can literally eat NOTHING AT ALL until you get thin, it's just not the healthiest option. WTF does "simply won't work" even mean? What do you mean WON'T WORK? It is -exactly- what works.

Won't work in the sense that long term, 1000 cals a day is unsustainable and is flat out dangerous to yourself if you're morbidly obese. You're going to get seriously sick, end of. Bye bye metabolism. Hormones will go bat sh*t crazy, rampant depression, no energy, no motivation (not even for 150 g's), you're going to lose your hair, you'll generally look and feel like sh*t. And this isn't a guy who can go hermit for a year, he has a public image to upkeep and a pretty demanding work schedule to attend to.

Jaime didn't get fat overnight, and he won't get thin overnight. 1000 cals isn't an efficient way of losing fat. Some exercise and a smaller caloric deficit will yield ten times the results long term. Jaime's BMR is like 2300 calories. Eating 1000cals a day is just a big massive LOL. Jaime needs to slowly decrease calories over time so that his body can adjust slowly over time.

The weight will melt off Jaime initially, that's a given as long as he's doing anything different than what he was doing. Let's say he is on this amazing 1000 cals diet from the get go....he's going to plateau at some point, progress will stall...it happens in every diet whether bulking or cutting when calories are kept the same throughout. What does he do then? Lower calories again? Cool story bro.
