Dynasty,

Great post. Thanks for the nostalgia hit.

Mr. Staples,

If by chance you are reading this, I think you should give serious consideration toward doing an IRL section stream which follows your gym habits, new nutrition routine, etc.

I figure with this kind of money at stake you are trying to optimize stuff. Make a Twitch stream following the progress on the days you aren't playing MTTs on a treadmill.

If you are committed to it (and have no trouble dealing with the Twitch trolls) then I think you could really build something cool and really grow your brand. People will cheer you on!

Not to be insulting to Jamie (gl bro) but he either has a hard time controlling himself or planing smart when it comes to food. So now we are going to add in big (even moderate) amounts of new exercise that hes not usually doing? Hes going to be ravenously hungry and eat back all or more calories than he lost during exercise. That pattern can be very depressing and negatively impact his progress. He needs to figure out a realistic meal plan and work on sticking to that first imo.

can we post names of free apps here? is so...

hey Jamie get mapmywalk (free), myfitnesspal(free), get a food scale, prep your meals, and figure out your TDEE/BMR.

Was watching that season of The Biggest Loser when Ruben Studdard from American Idol was a contestant, and it did seem like they made sure to do several things right from the start, besides just exercise? Seem to remember the coaches meeting with each person to try and figure out what sort of need food represented to them - so then they could find other ways to comfort or reward themselves, like with phone calls home, or a treat like more time with the coach, or a spa visit, or stuff like that?

And then also remember the coaches setting up some sort of game where not-good stuff would happen if anyone ate eat junk food - guess so they'd really see it as not worth it the temporary enjoyment?

Remember reading something in US Magazine about how quite a few of the past contestants have managed to keep the weight off - so maybe taking that extra time to change what food represented to people made a lasting difference? Maybe helpful for anyone wanting to try to change a habit of any kind?

Haven't heard too many stories of people try to gain weight on purpose - it seems like it would be really unpleasant to eat when not hungry! And weights are so heavy

people hated on his vlogs so much he basically cried and stop doing them, while crying in every one of them about how he can't stop smoking or lose any weight, he has absolutely no chance of winning this bet unless he quits poker for the year..honestly no chance

Rooting for Jamie hard here, even if he fails but loses a lot of weight/gets healthier it'll be money well spent in the long run.

Also it needs to be said that Bill Perkins is a top top guy in the poker world. Give me 1 BP over 100 Dnegs any day of the week.

Coincidence that his money didn't come from poker?

150k to lose weight in one year and for junior to eat a few pizzas. 99% of people would snap at that bet.

I was watching the stream last night when Jaime's food arrived. Chicken and vegetables.
The rate he shovelled it down himself was quite a disgusting sight to see. He barely even chewed.
Eat slower. Give your body time to tell you when you're full, not 19 mouthfuls too late.

This. He's not only good for the game, he's good for the industry as a whole.

He has to lose about 1-1,5kg per week, for a whole year. Making a 1100-1600kcal deficit per day. Without any exercise that means eating 1700-1200kcal per day at the start. I would snap call the bet as well, but that's quite a tall order.

Losing a ton of weight does not require a Biggest Loser type of workout regiment. It simply requires you to eat little food (calorie wise ldo). Eat two pounds of veggies (for satiety) and and a pound of chicken per day for a year (unlimited diet sodas yo) and take an hour walk/day and he's there. Just comes down to how bad he wants it, and I don't even say that as a suffering thing because he won't even have to suffer much physically, he just won't be able to have much tasty foods.

Or little bro could just get fat.

Two days of dehydration and no food will chop off an additional ~10lbs from Jaime, and two days of binging and water loading will add ~20lbs to the brother's numbers, at the end, btw.

Bigger one is so fat atm it's allmost easy to drop the first 10-20kg. After that you need to do more than just stop eating donuts. Gonna be hard to manage that eating and exercise schedule and streaming vlogging etc.

Btw have no personal experince but doesn't people gain weight when they stop smoking? So he needs to smoke even more. Kappa.

Jaime could drop the first 50-100 pounds easy. Get mini Stapler to put on 50 and they are well on the way in 6 months time. Do that and the last 6 months they should be able to scientifically work out the best strat to beat the challenge.

I hope Jaime does it, he gets a lot of **** for his bad-ish Poker but he is a great kid. 150K to get fit, if you fail that you will never do it, go for it Jaime!

Just get a treadmill and do the 8 hour Poker stream while walking on it. Easy peasy!
