Oh honestly I don't know, I remember reading the thing ages ago, but I was just pointing out that (if Jungleman didn't see it), that it's really unreliable since Dwan is "king of excuses" or whatever Haralabob said, and of all the people he's going to be giving excuses to, it's JM.

But yeah I mean if he saw it then nevermind, I don't recall, you're probably right!

That video from Polk/PH is really interesting.

Of course it is just more rumors and speculation, but at the same time one would expect negative speculation from PH, whereas he is more defending Tom. Even his reaction to Doug's "scammer scammer blah blah I am the best heads up player blah blah Tom is scam" vomit that he always says...it kind of shows you Phil's respect for Tom.

Phil always said alot of funny stuff about tom, but he clearly had respect for him back in the day. You could tell the way he spoke of him when he was (rarely) being serious.

Who else in the world can say they have Phil Helmuth's respect? Besides his mirror?

Also I don't know wtf that picture is above me but it's incredible.

If they complete the challange on PokerStars, it would be impossible to be up 1$ on headsup from the Rake anyway... And it would proberbly cost the 500.000$ in rake before 50k Hands anyway... So yea duuuurrrrr

No Dwan sightings recently? I hope he casually shows up for a WSOP event like Chris Ferguson did last year. All the casinos in Vegas would be falling over each other to host the Tom Dwan cash game.

Ooh. Are we making tom dwan fan fiction now?

He show's up at aria's or bobby's room looking cor a cash game.

Dwan looks around taking in the view, the familiar smells and sounds bring back distant memories that feel both forever ago and just like yesterday.

Tom Dwan gets to 2nd place in the 1st tournament in 3 years

This past weekend, Tom “durrrr” Dwan finished second in the $64,400 buy-in worth high roller event that took place at the 2017 Macau Billionaire Poker Spring Challenge at the Babylon Casino. It was his first tournament score since February 2014.

It’s worth noting that the tournament had just 12 players, but any public appearance for Dwan is welcome news these days. The legendary cash game player has been absent from the live scene in America for several years now, but he’s apparently still a regular in nosebleed games over in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mikita Badziakouski, the winner of the high roller, took home about $420,000, while Dwan pocketed $250,000. Dwan now has $2.9 million in lifetime tournament earnings.

The score is great news for Dwan, who has been criticized by some of his peers in the high-stakes poker community over the defunct “Durrrr Challenge.” High-stakes player Doug Polk also took to his video blog this month to speculate about Dwan’s finances.

Dan Cates, Dwan’s opponent in the online poker challenge, said that Dwan has “gambled beyond his means.” According to online poker tracking site HighstakesDB, Dwan hasn’t played online in about three years.

Dwan was widely regarded as one of the most feared cash game players in the world during the pre-Black Friday era, but he also had some deep tournament runs. At the 2010 World Series of Poker, Dwan had millions in action on bracelet bets. With a rumored $12.5 million on the line in a measly $1,500 buy-in tournament, Dwan finished second out of 2,563 players and missed out on a payday that was likely larger than first place in the main event.

Does he have any legal/IRS issues in US? Not showing his face in US for 5-6 years now can't be due to Jungle challenge. Do you need any type of visa renewal for Macau, Manilla or wherever he lives or he can live there forever with us passport?
