About the VPN morality issue; whether the American player VPNing is a reg or a fish shouldn't enter into the discussion because it's a subjective term. To the best regs at a limit, a weaker American reg would be a welcomed addition to the pool.

There is no VPN morality issue, this is an amazing thread.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if you decide to use a VPN and you live in Connecticut and win $50,000 let's say, how do you get your money? I remember before Black Friday I won $15,000 and they wanted me to send them verification documents and drivers license and other stuff.

If you don't have a verifiable address abroad and documentation how can you ever cash out?

I'm not an expert or anything but I assume you would have your account in the name of a non poker playing friend who lives abroad, and cash out to a skrill/neteller.

I guess you need to send them copy of ID and verification of address? They probably accept your US drivers license as a valid ID and you can either go to the country you're pretending to live for a week or however long it's gonna take to set up some utility bill to your name or you can photoshop an utility bill. Then proceed to cashout to Skrill/Neteller or swap for Bitcoins via buddy transfer or whatever.

Something i'm curious. Why did Haralabos Voulgaris choose Dwan as his middle man at time when Dwan was pretty well known? Whether Dwan bet sports or not, any legit sportsbook should or would know that if they see Dwan making big bets out of no where, he must have some sort of edge, and therefore moving the lines of those games.

Maybe i'm reading that situation wrong, but why would he choose Dwan of all people to be his middle guy?? It dont make sense.
This all speculation but maybe the books think of Tom has a huge fish and Bob as someone who has an edge on them. It's easy to pass a good/big bet through a fish. That's my guess.

Funny this thread goes from universal bashing of VPNing to a how to course.

Tom's friends Paul Phua and Richard Yong were running an illegal sports book out of a caesars hotel room. Tom probably took the bet from Bob to give to Phua. Somewhere in that process the money was never returned.

Hellmuth answered a Q about dwan on dougs quick ********** tonight , he said his friends saw Tom at a restauraunt and then getting on a private jet last week / hes heard of him winning up to 15-30m in a night etc.

Who knows how accurate it is but you would assume somewhat accurate cause he has no reason to lie

Sorry heard through multiple skype group calls back in 2012/2013 through the person who got dropped. I didn't record those calls, and no I'm not bitter, I haven't talked to this person in 3-4 years. Their is a chance this person was completely lieing to me and others but I highly doubt it.

I live in a small country, though not as small as Macau, so this situation comes up a lot. For play, it's enough that the dealer knows the languages which are permitted at the table - they translate verbal bets as required - so I imagine every dealer working in Macau is required to know Cantonese, Mandarin and English (maybe still Portuguese idk) at least for stuff like "bet $500K", "how much is it to me" etc.

In terms of ingratiating himself into the cashgames I imagine he's got to be doing that in English - though people always like it if you make an effort to learn their language even if you realistically are never going to get as far as they have in yours.

He's been in Macau for at least 4 years... I would imagine he's pretty good at at least one Asian language.

Dealers on the gaming floor in Macau are local who all speak Cantonese. As a requirement of their job they understand/speak Mandarin. They are not required to know English or Portuguese.

The ones who work in the poker room would be taught/learn the English terms required: how to say numbers, check, bet, raise, all-in, showdown please, etc.

Dwan on another SHR final table today, only 12 players regg'd though so lol

chinese ppl seem to love dwan, keep spamming his name in the stream chat, can't read anything so I suppose they could be hating on him just as much

also in typical dwan fashion he looks like he hasn't slept in a few days and has been yawning every 30 seconds / putting his head down lol

This should not just be glossed over, Phil has 0 reason to lie about this. Actually considering what preceded the question, the talk about Phil calling dwan being gone in 5 years or whatever, he had incentive to trash Dwan.

How mysterious he somehow remains in this day in age is ****ing fascinating to me.

If he was in a private jet, it does not reveal too much, as he could be a losing player being encouraged to bet by being lent a private jet to fly to a game to lose more money, or he could be a winning player living a private jet lifestyle. Or he could have been accompanying a friend who owned or had hired the private plan, the permutations are endless.

What is for certain is none of us have a certain answer about the finances of Tom Dwan, the man rumoured to win $30,000,000 in one game!

But Dwan looks drawn these days, so all this success of his must be a heavy burden.
