But for new players who wanna go pro its a terrible prospect. Insane amount of work, not that much pay to start out with and facing constant decline in numbers of players.
A while ago a smart 20s kid could be super profitable compared to other fields, grind out the big $$$ and be mid 20s with huge amount of net worth compared to average worker.
Now, it would be stupid to put in the effort in online poker because for 99% of people you're never coming close to what you earn with that same work in other fields (unless you live somewhere with extremely low living costs and wages).
Add in bot rings, MA, rakeback cuts and it seems you'd have to be insane to try to become a poker pro in 2016. If someone wants it badly enough they can still get it but there's probably better things in life to have that level of passion about than a card game. To each his own though and no hate to anyone trying to make it in 2016, just GL x 100 cos u gonna need it.
This is just imo what poker looks like to the young kids trying to run up a bankroll in 2016. Mr Newey don't gotta worry bout this shizz though :P
What about live poker? Any money there? I am terrible live and have only been a handful of times but a lot of money gets thrown around at my local casino (Manchester, UK) and the cocky confident regs are like older mid 40's plus with a lot of money who are just absoltuely trash at poker but have a God complex. Like the most respected guy there the day i was got it in with me 240bb deep with MP vs my set and berrated me for the next 5 minutes for being ******ed for calling his 5bb open with a PP.
