How exactly did Dwan come to owe so much money? Losing huge amounts in poker? Prop betting? Other casino games?

To be clear, we are not sure of that. There's been a lot of speculation and innuendo. But there's no clear indication that it's true.

I happen to think that Dwan must be in a bad spot. That last video is not a good look. That's not a boy in a good place in life.

If I were to speculate on how it happened, it's probably poker and his playing style. The funny thing about money is that someone always has more money than you. Some people have so much money that it literally doesn't matter to them, period. And if you want to find these people, Macau is a pretty darn good place to start . . .

Some degree of Dwan's strategy and approach is based on his ability to leverage his stack against you or your own fears/love/doubt/etc of money to the test. So what happens when that strategy goes up against someone that you can't "scare" into losing? The answer is that you end up losing. Playing for those high stakes against people who can buy you and your family (and the next three generations of your family!) ten-times over is a really good way to put your entire roll at risk, no matter how big or small that roll may be.

Cliffs: He's playing a game he's not bankrolled for; live poker is a different beast where every play requires more precision because you're only playing one hand at a time

Edit: There's also the Blom/Laliberte factor. He lost his aura of invincibility along with 5M in cheese and no cash cow to recharge his mojo

Does sound money related. But more that he got money stuck or stolen, not that he lost it playing poker.

lol @ all the things people are inferring by his looks. by far the biggest factors in looking like that are dehydration and lack of sleep, not hard drug use or living a "hard"/stressful life.

well, lack of sleep can be part of living a hard life obviously, but i mean there's nothing to suggest it's anything more than a couple long nights at the casino + not enough water.

Remind me to never stake you guys; if these are your people-reading skills then you must completely suck at poker . . .

That and Jungle's insinuations in the video with Joey about Dwan's very major money/debt problems.

How soon until Tom is seen in an ISIS video?

His lip was trembling because he couldn't believe the horrible strategy advice coming out of his mouth, "I decide if my opponent feels like bluffing that day" wtf.

Definitely a forced interview especially the part where he says he will win the whatever tournament and others are welcomed to try, he rolled his eyes down as if he was told to promote the event in some way and couldn't believe what he was saying.

He has the look of defeat like when a ex drains your confidence before breaking up with you.It could stem from having to play lower stakes or owing tons of money or both. I know all these players have issues but dawn might be a serious addict the way he isolates himself.

I think this is the case with Dwan. He said in video has not had time to visit the area because spent last months gamboolin
