I actually like Durrr. I think I mentioned this earlier. I am a fan, but not a fanboy. It's great that he's making an effort, but lol at acting like paying a tiny % per year clears the slate.

Probably doesn't, but then again, like before, we don't have all the information still. Whether it does or doesn't is kinda beside the point imo, to these guys this is one situation of probably many, and a really unique and complicated one at that. If durrr has acted somewhat unethical about it, but has been stand up in many many other situations, does this mean hes the scum of the earth like your boss implies to get views?

I've been waiting for other big name serious pros that have interacted with Durrr to throw him under the bus for being shady, but to my knowledge not a single person has, including Jungle mostly. One would think this would be good enough to reserve too harsh of judgement, especially publicly. But gotta get them youtube views at all costs I guess.

I really didn't think it was durrr he was talking about when watching the chicaojoey pod bob was on, but there was that tweet recently that seemed to imply it is durrr. Who knows.

I'm not very familiar with the details of the Durrrr Challenge. When Jungleman told Doug that he'd received 800k in penalties I assumed that was most of what Jungle was owed (not including the 1.5M sidebet). How much does Dwan owe in penalties?

I think you're missing the point that if Jungle is okay with it, then people are fine with it. If Jungle was still angry about it and railing on Tom, then I think the mood would be much, much different.

what if Tom paid jungle and jungle took a liking to the song yayo and went on a blackjack run in an underground casino set up by friends to win a ton of money , got scammed, had to make a nvg thread and ended up getting paid some amount of money in the end then disapeared off the face of the earth?

Zima keeps posting on this site despite getting clearly exposed as a massive scammer. The thread on this topic had hundreds of thousands of views. Yet he keeps posting. How is this possible?

Future is now, people are living in virtual reality of nvg threads.

I haven't followed this whole thing that closely but IIRC, didn't this match get halted when the US gov shut down Pokerstars and Full Tilt in 2011? If so, that seems like a pretty catastrophic event in relation to the bet that would justify the match being cancelled or at least allow for a reasonable settlement between both parties.

If its correct that Dwan has paid 700-800k plus lost 500K during the hands played so far (which I assume Jungleman was able to cash out) then I am having a hard time feeling too sorry for Jungle or accusing Dwan of being a scammer/welch.

what am I missing?

Pokerstars did not shut down on black Friday, played as normal from Canada on that day, Durrr could easily have played him while he was in Europe or any other Region that still supported stars.

It's a common misconception that Full Tilt created the challenge and put up all the money (lol), when in fact the challenge was issued before Tom had any association with FTP.

This also completely disregards the equity Jungle probably had in the remaining hands.
afaik Tom's obligation is to finish the challenge - not maximize jungleman's earnings. Paying him $800k or whatever isn't intended to make JM right, it's to indicate that Tom has a genuine desire to finish the challenge.

And lol at scale not mattering here. Paying $800k to prolong a challenge where Tom loses $1.5 million. Scale doesn't matter, sure, ok. Why did JM even bring it up then?

I don't think Tom handled this optimally, but hopefully he can come to a resolution where both sides can move on.
