Re: EPT Berlin Armed Robbery
lol at Euros who don't have a clue with how the US is. Most people are honest/good people who whether they had a gun or not would never use it to harm anyone other than protecting their life/family/property.
Also I haven't done any research on other countries but I've done a fair bit with regards to different US States with different gun laws and the ones with stricter (aka tougher for everyday citizens to get a gun) laws generally have a higher rate of violent crime but the states with less strict gun laws generally have more deaths and such when those crimes do happen.
So basically allowing more guns protects property better as a deterrent but when the crimes do happen it's far more likely to end up badly with people dying in States where it's easier to have guns.

Re: EPT Berlin Armed Robbery
Why is it that always when there's something that involves another country there are at least 10 Americans (not saying all) crying how bad that country is and how much better it is in the U.S.??
It's like they have a huge pride issue when it comes to their country.. Whenever I check the location it's always an American.. It's like they're always busy with "country conflicts" inside their heads.. Just accept that the U.S. isn't always best in everything.. The U.S. is just an average Western nation in almost every aspect, there's really not much difference and many different countries are better in different things.. And that doesn't matter, every nation has its positive and negative stuff.. Just ***** deal with it and accept reality..

Re: EPT Berlin Armed Robbery
yo germany has horrible govt. / police. i was once in berlin and a police officer asked me if i had seen a robber in a beret. i informed him i had not and asked him what the robber stole. he replied, 3 pints of warsteiner from me table. it was just about this point i broke a bottle of budweiser over his head (pre buy out) and made off with his billy club.

You guys are so ridic, ye you protect us in times of wars you yourself created.. whatta laugh....we dont need that kinda protection..looks to me more like mafia arrangement.
+ If you douchebags overthere still think you could solve problems that way, well it will go on your account when the earth is a lonely planet, imo wont last long anyway. Praise the citizens of America who believed in their leaders big lies ...there was Rumsfeld, Bush.. more to come .. well wait that reminds me of something similar happened 1940 in germany...you are on the best way to make it happen again

Re: EPT Berlin Armed Robbery
Hahaha @ the people who say "we" when referring to international diplomacy or historical events they weren't involved in.
Fact: the state does not care about you, your life, your general welfare etc.
Everything states do is because of realpolitik, which (according to the international political theory of realism) means they do things as unitary actors, for their own interests. Not for simplistic moral reasons like 'saving' somebody, but to secure the balance of power and protect their own interests.
Unless you're over about the age of 86, saying "we" whan talking about the Second World War is simply pathetic. You have no connection or affinity with anybody else if your only connection is that you were coincidently born on the same landmass. Unless you're personally involved in the diplomacy of geopolitics or war, there is no "we". Stop leeching off the achievements of others and taking pride in them as though you played a part.
I recommend that simple-minded nationalists like stackattack watch the great American standup comedian Doug Stanhope with his ' 'F**k the French' bit.

I knew some American's pride would be hurt by my post and come with something about war or military, cause that is basically one of the few things you are better in.. You know why? Only because you spend WAY more money on military as any other nation. You think for instance the EU doesn't have the technology and money to compete with the U.S.? LMFAO.. haha..
You spend so much money on military because you're a war country.. Is that something to be proud on? I'll leave that in the middle.. Is spending more money on military than other countries something to be proud on? No.
And if you really wanna compare the U.S. to for instance Germany(not even my country btw) then look at the statistics on poverty, social security, health care, average happiness of citizens, unemployment, peace, crime, murder rate, drug user rate, education, infrastructure, pollution, quality of life and the list goes on.. Germany, and basically almost any Western country is far better in all those aspects as the U.S... Now THAT is how you compare nations with eachother. THAT is how you decide what is the best place to live. Live is not about who is the best and most powerful or dominating the world. Any nation with enough manpower, technology and money could do this. It's not hard at all. Life is about HAVING freedom and living a happy life, with maximum quality.. You want to say the U.S. is better in that aspect as other Western countries? I'm not the one starting this comparing stuff, you wanted it yourself.
I don't really understand all the pride, it looks like some Americans are brainwashed by their media or something in that manor.. The U.S. is just an average nation. I am not saying it's a bad country, but it isn't as great as people like you like to believe. The U.S. is great in marketing their country and being proud about it but if you look to real statistics, it's not that different to most Western countries. It scores actually lower in many statistics as most Western countries. Only you never hear about it, because most other countries don't need to brag every f-king time they are better in something as others..

Me as well, that was my initial complaint.. Don't know why I got suckered into a reaction.. I shouldn't really, it's every time the same when there's something about another country as the U.S...

I don't like the whole US vs. EU either, but that was very well put and sums up the "european" point of view pretty well.
And btw poporella, you are one angry Dude, you should relax...
