Thoughts on Boywonder

Before starting this, I wan't to state I am of no sorts a hater, but would like to clarify the other side to the "boywonder" stories that everyones fascinated with on this site. I get everyones in love with the guy, but certain things need to be said to get a clear picture of him as a player. Yes, I'm posting under an alias, because attacking boywonder on here is going to be a lot like attacking obama during the election. Everyones so blinded by his claims they would never in a million years take the time to look at the issues in those claims.

His Ego

Since the start of his appearance on 2+2 everything he has said is in some way a brag, like he needs to feel villified. We we get it, you're a 5BB winner. We get it, you're a 5BB winner. We get it, you're a 5BB winner. You also like to constantly state how the regs at your stakes play bad, and you're doing something different. I am a reg that plays with you often, and I sit at the same tables as you often (because you are a strict bumhunter, as am I) From my experience, you almost never tangle with regs, and when you do, you make the most insanely spewy plays out of any reg at these limits. For those of you that don't believe me, ask around, the guys not only insanely spewy, but extremely lucky. There is a reason the only time he posts here is to brag, and never to talk strat. The way he talks about himself and his plays, although seemingly humble, can be seen as egotistical for a keen eye. Whens the last time you have seen any successful msnl reg preach about how well their doing, and how they hold the knowledge that no other reg knows to beating these games? Never. Take the time to read his posts, every single one shows hints of his ego. He preaches about how regs don't have emotional control and all that psycho babble, and sure all you micro players buy this crap, but us msnl players DONT. What he doesnt realize is we regs have worked hard as hell to get where we are, to say we don't know basic stuff about self control is just fallacy.

Also try reading some of the threads he made about coaching, where he babbles on and on saying other coaches are bad (without have the balls to name names) while subtly hinting people should hire him instead with his inflated 475/hr rate. Also read his coachs listing thread where he continues to preach about coaching things nobody else has ever talked about, and how he has magical keys to beating this game that nobody else can. Take this quote for example,

" I think I can flat out say that they are so overpriced in regards to their winrates and what I have seen from them at the tables that the best thing they can do is either improve or change their line of business because coaching won´t last forever, and they´re not making that much playing anyway...... "

What gives you the right to say this crap? If you are so confident in yourself, why do you waste time looking down on people? Why are you so damn passive agressive in general? The major reasons he doesn't expose his SN on 2+2, is because other regs will certainly call him out on his lies. I've spoken with many regs at our stakes, and everyone feels the same, but nobody wants to call him out on his claims, because it seems all of 2+2 are just fanboys of this guy, and it's a waste of time. You have to understand that this guy is more of an enigma than an actual solid player. Listen boywonder, I get you need respect from the community, but don't act like your **** doesnt stick, and you're the next coming of christ.

( oh yeah, and boywonders SN is Vanosh, yea I said it! )

Because maybe the truth is, most coaches are losing players who are overrated. Whether it be talking "down" or not, I'd rather hear the truth.

Also, in regards to the Screenname crap... how often do you see high stakes pros just giving out their screenname? You make it seem like it's abnormal for someone to keep that private.

You sound like a jealous and bitter little girl.

Re: Thoughts on Boywonder

It's astonishing that someone with a forum name like boy wonder would have a tendency to brag!

Anyway to OP:

Re: Thoughts on Boywonder

It ain't bragging if it's true. Show a better winrate at midstakes over as large a sample if you say he isn't so good.

And what's controversial about calling out guys charging > $500/hr coaching when they've been consistently losing money playing over the last year+. OP obviously one of these coaches that's seeing business hurt from the veil being lifted.

Pretty douchey thing to do, but whatever... How can you possibly know boywonder's SN when he has worked so hard to keep it secret.

Re: Thoughts on Boywonder

So, boywonder is a coward/liar for not telling his SN here, but it's OK for you to post this under different alias...

He might be 2+2 attention whore but what's wrong it in as long as he isn't lying about his results or something like that? Also, it's easy to understand why'd he want to criticize coaching business, if there's losing players coaching who are competing with his business, I don't see anything wrong in his comments about coaching "scams" as long as he isn't making things up.

Re: Thoughts on Boywonder

ya doing this under pseudonym is so hypocritical it invalidates any point you might have.

i have no opinion on boywonder other than knowing of his results and trusting aaron/etc wouldn't hire a guy who sucks. His thread about coaching seemed pretty accurate but self-serving and weakened by the fact he wouldn't offer full disclosure of screen names etc, especially given the arguments he made about what constitutes a qualified coach. Self-serving not only in that it was designed to promote himself but that it angled the view of what constitutes premium value coaching to suit what he was offering. But self-serving is a logical thing to be and if you offer legit value you have that right. Certainly a good coach and player approaching things as he did is better than what a lot of coaches offer/sell.
