They should make the WSOP a play money tournament - Page 9 - Poker News

I started playing in the pay money tournaments on Full Tilt, the real cometishians.

I started off doing poorly because I was playing hands like AK and losing to hands like 97o. Then I realized that these were cometishians, games of true skill, so the ABC's of poker are technically thrown out the window because those "preflop monsters" require luck to win at showdown. "Luck" is not a word in a cometishian dictionary.

Once I opened up my range and applied my skills, as necessary for a winning cometishian player. I have done a lot better and my EVg (g stands for glory) has went up tenfold due to the increased amount of glory in cometishians. Bankrolls are for players who need luck to win. I now know that glory is the true standard of wealth in poker.

It would be neat for the wsop to have a freeroll tourney capped at 5k entries. Entries would be based on those chosen in a lottery. Harrah's has enough dough to put aside 500k for a freeroll.

There is no solution to the problems that plague the ME because it is not the event that is broken, it is the people running it.

Although not the actual event itself, ESPN takes the blame in my book for helping to ruin the experience. The televised coverage is generally terrible, uninteresting, and insanely repetitive.
