uk pros generally play the super soft games in casinos instead of wasting their time on the net

Unless I'm missing a level here, surely the softness of the games is outweighed by the fact that even if you're only 4-tabling, you play 8-10 x more hands/hour online. Again I have a tournament background rather than cash, and I appreciate that OP's question was about cash, but I'm sure there are parallels. Live UK tournaments are vvv soft but what's the point of playing anything less than £1K when you only get 20 hands/hour, and that doesn't even include travelling/hanging around time.

Our nation sucks at everything. We have all this national pride and **** but can't win any worthwhile sporting event despite how many times "this years our year". We have to run like absolute god to win anything (see 1966, rugby world cup, ... ok thats all we've ever won). It's no surprise people in the UK are **** at poker, it must be our culture or something

I wonder about this. I think we have a culture of entitlement before the fact and blame afterwards, both of which we prefer to knuckling down and actually becoming any good at anything.
