There are a few good UK tournament players but I agree with Clarkatroid, you hardly see any at all playing high or even mid stakes cash and winning a decent amount.

Maybe all the good ones play on Betfair, Prima etc? I mean there is a huge number of people from the UK playing online surely some are decent?

I think the lack of home games could help or hinder in theory. As we don't grow up with the game playing with friends and family, it's hard to get into bad habits or play 'for fun'. Then again TV is pretty bad isn't it?!

Of course there are some jj, there are a number posting in SSNL/MSNL etc but i think the point of this thread is that despite the large numbers of UK players the overall number of big winners in the cash games is really low, not that there is none whatsoever. UK has 2nd most online poker players after the US yet there are way more scandanavian regs beating mid and high stakes cash across the sites for example. Or at least so it seems.

There's also Gary Jones who is up millions online.
