Tell NVG Something (still) POSITIVE About Online Poker Right Now (Heading into 2017) - Poker News

I'm not really asking for any specific reason other than the obvious really....Things do seam bleak.

So much of what we hear about now is just doom and gloom sh%^ (games are dead/unbeatable - Amayastars ruined my life - online poker is dead etc etc) - And repeatedly.

That said...Moving into the new year...Tell me ANYTHING positive about online poker in 2016.!

Despite the complete lack of innovation by sites, bots, cheating, and seating nonsense online poker is still pretty successful, which says a lot about just how good of a game poker is.

It's still possible to make money playing a computer game in your pajamas.

It's difficult to make a 100k a year, but at least you get to make something as opposed to playing games like Grand Theft Auto where you get paid nothing.

VR is coming fast, but it's still a long way, until head-sets are a 'every household' product, so not sure if this is a thing "Heading into 2017". besides that, i remember very good, when a lot of ppl thought PKR would be the next big thing

pretty much the same with Virtue Poker ... "By the end of next year we want to have released our product" .. so maybe it will take them 2018 to launch ... not to mention, that this kind of "stuff" (as great as it is), is way too intimidating for the average internet user ... not to mention, that bitcoin offers many benefits and it isn't used that much (at least not as much many ppl thought when BC was new and revolutionary)

If Stars Rakeback was zero next year I'd have no incentive to play.

Some people who seem to be genuinely and truly passionate about the game decided to launch some poker sites. I'm talking about Phil Galfond and Lucky Chewy, of course.
They may not revolutionize online poker and maybe even not "refresh" it, they may fail, yes it's possible, but at least it gives me hope about the future of poker not being locked up by shady white collar shareholders who don't even have a clue about the game.
