The Sunday Tourneys on P-Stars were soooo much a reason I got hooked on Poker. Whether I had $1, $11, $100 or more available, there was always a huge tourney to play that offered a ginormous ROI potential for very little financial risk. If I got knocked out early, could always play some cash games, and check out the forums & podcasts and rail the tourney I just played to see if anyone I played against ran deep.
I used to love listening to Quad Jacks as I ran deeper in a few events....and loved watching all the Poker Shows on TV.
Before Black Friday, there really seemed to be a Poker "Community" so to speak. It was like Poker was a sport where any one could jump in and play for a chance to win some serious ROI.
My best finish ever was The April 11th, 2010 $11 Sunday 1/4 Million.
Total Prize Pool was $322,920 with 1st getting $27,000. I had been studying the game for just over a year, and finished 97th of 32,292 players ! Cashed for $187 but was very pleased with the result and progress I felt I was making as a player.........but then of course......we all now what happened not long after......Black Friday SUCKED !!!
The positive: I feel between Bitcoin, and a slow progression to legalize online online poker in the USA, that perhaps we could get i-Poker back to a fraction of what it once was......and that would be better than today......
I currently mess around on ACR & Bovada, but not nearly with the same enthusiasm I once played with on P-Stars.
The positive is we know what online poker can be, and hopefully, we can make a slow return back to that at some level......with the added benefit of legal protections....
