you a fool if you think picking 57% right in sports isnt clearing juice by more then enough!

CLeary not understanding the maths

You could retire from working and bet sports if you could hit 57 percent long term.

Actually met Teddy at like 3am at the Rio during WSOP 2011. Just randomly rode up to me on his rascal as I was taking a break away from my table and started up a convo. He really is a down to Earth dude and in no way did I get any vibes at all that he's a tool/dbag/etc.

Was probably a 5 minute or so convo. Don't remember much from it, but I do remember him mentioning how he used to be flashy and a baller and careless with money until he had his daughter and that changed his whole outlook on life. Ended the convo with a fistbump and a "good luck man".

Cliffs: Teddys a cool cat in my book.

How bout you guys all post one bet a day and we see how you do. I'd imagine the guy who think hitting 57% isn't good will do just great!

I'm not some expert (see below). If standard juice is 10% (ie -110), breaking even is 55% right? How are you retiring on 1-2% margin?

Not sure of math but I do know that pro handicappers say that if you can pick 60% over long run you are crushing sports so thats why I imagine 57% is legit as well..

I'm not good at math and it's not very difficult to figure out. If you are winning 55% of bets then you are losing 45% of those losing bets. Which means you are paying 10% juice on those bets. 45 times 1.1 = 49.5. Which means you are still covering 50.5% winrate after juice. So around 55% winrate is the breakeven point on sports betting.

No that isn't right at all. Is nvg the forum where people just post random things as facts?

The break even rate for laying -110 is 52.4%. The books dont have a 10% edge, they have a 4.5% edge. And anyone betting serious volume isn't paying -110 anyway. So anyone hitting 57% is absolutely crushing. 60% is near impossible unless you're hitting small markets, and anything over 60% isn't sustainable unless its props or something. And no, betting one thing a day is not the way to win. At all. Pro bettors put in a ton of volume and grind out like 2 or 3% roi (when youre attacking major markets and can bet 5 figures easily its a lot of money.) no offense but if this stuff is news to you you shouldn't be betting.

But enough of my nittery. More iceman sightings please!

You don't think any $ instrument with 1-2% locked gains can't be scaled? What's 2% of $10,000 (bets)x10 (games)?

its hilarious that people think the guy who rolls up to them on his scooter and talks ABOUT HIMSELF for 5 minutes and then rolls away is a "down to earth dude"

whether he is talking about his scalping tickets, his former poker glory, his iced out teddy bears, his upcoming clothing line, how he can get you in a club cuz he knows everyone, how he knew what the other guy had, how he use to ball out but now his daughter has changed him, how the venetian hired him as a pro and is gonna put his picture on the wall.......... the common link is and always will be talking about teddy
