Doubt Stars is efforting extremely hard to get Hellmuth.
Why not? He is the biggest star ( top 3 at least) in poker and the "greatest" (lol its even hard to write that with a serious face) tourney player alive.
I know I would play a lot more ZOOM poker e.g. he was playing that and so would hundreds others probably.

A few reasons jump out:

a.) His price tag is prolly waaaay inflated due to his ego
b.) He already has a deal with Aria and probably will get a lucrative deal whenever one of the Vegas casinos go online.
c.) Doubt he would commit to playing much online
d.) Maybe I'm off with this, but he is just forever associated to UB in the poker world. Of course, new players wouldn't see this so this is likely inaccurate.

Tom dwan was the most honorable of all the FTP donks. Please reward him stars. He actually deserves a petition thread but I'm lazy. Feel free to take my idea.

Phil Hellmuth's name is going to be ridiculously valuable when US regulation hits as he's almost certainly the single most recognizable name in poker in the US by a fairly wide margin. Signing now with Stars would undoubtedly mean a lengthy contract that would mean he gets left behind when US regulation gets going. Not to mention Stars obviously cannot serve US players and I'm not sure how valuable his name is internationally

I think the most recognizable name is still Johnny Chan, You should never underestimate the mainstream impact of a popular movie.

Annie Duke and Brandom Adams obv.
Cf and HL could also make the list.
Don't know why PokerStars has so many American players, makes no sense to me but the 4 above fits perfectly with the current PS pro's and other recent business decisions.
