pretty sure youre wrong. pretty sure the regulars in that thread have been some of the most vocal critics. pretty sure the regulars have been the most vigilant in accumulating the data and publicizing it. pretty sure that the depth of this scandal is never uncovered without the cooperation of the ppl in that thread.

no one in that thread is making excuses for ub. realize its in our best interest, far moreso than the ppl who dont play there, to ensure that ubs games are fair. publicizing it and getting the word out is the best way to get results.

further, if 2p2ers want to stop playing there, thats completely fine with me. that makes the games easier. so thats in our best interest too.

making excuses and sweeping it under the rug is obv not in our best interest. this is clear to anyone with any sense.

Perhaps along the lines of bold block letters saying "Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet are RIGGED", perhaps with a little colorful button-style graphic that says "Ask me how" (like the buttons that Home Depot employees wear that says "Ask me for help..." or whatever).

If you had 500 people milling about the Rio poker room with those shirts on, I can't see how everyone wouldn't be talking about it by day's end. Sorry for the thread hijack.

I disagree strongly with the t-shirt or button idea because I think it will accomplish very little and/or the opposite of what you intend.

Many people think that's an invitation to compare sites.
"Yeah...but I think Stars is rigged worse than that. I was playing in this one tourney and this guy called my all-in with 72o and busted my AA. They have players who know what's going to happen."
etc etc etc.

A UB/AP is rigged t-shirt campaign will just look like an, "Online Poker is rigged" type campaign to many of the people who see it.
Seriously.
If you don't think so then I wonder how many people outside of online-poker you have talked about this stuff with.

I also think the little campaign thing is as much to make the people who are doing it feel better that they are perhaps actually accomplishing something when they mostly feel helpless about it. It doesn't really do much but if you're wearing some sort of protest shirt then at least you did your part, right?

I also think that people seeing the logo will notice it and perhaps become curious. So they try it out and then think, "Hmm, not sure what they're talking about. It doesn't seem rigged to me. The cards I got on FT are way more rigged than this."
Seriously, that's how a lot of people think.
Sometimes negative publicity is better than no publicity in certain ways.

Also - many people who play in the WSOP will be sponsored by Stars or FT or whoever and be wearing their logo-wear. I think it's inappropriate to wear a Stars hat as a sponsored player but then also wear something with the UB logo on it even if it's a shirt that says, "Don't play on UB."

I seriously think some of you who are thinking of doing this weird anti-UB/AP t-shirt campaign need to reconsider what you are actually going to accomplish by doing this. If your goal really is to feel better by wearing a shirt that says, "Down with UB" then I think you can accomplish that. You really can wear the shirt and then when you leave LV you can say, "Ha!! We sure showed them!!"
I don't think it's a particularly good idea.

I notice you post a lot in the MSNL UB thread. Obv the games are soft there b/c many good players won't play there, and obv it is to your advantage if even more good players leave. If you are acting out of self-interest, which is what all poker players do whenever they sit down at a table, then keep playing there. If you care about the integrity of online poker, then stop giving ppl who **** over the poker community your business.

So Microbob thinks we should just sweep this under the rug and move on...interesting approach.

I think one way or another awareness has to be made that UB is a fraudulent site. If a t-shirt raises awareness then I say by all means wear a t-shirt.

Also, those players that are representing crooked sites need to hear complaints from all of us imo.

Is there any current known whereabouts of Scott Tom and AJ Green, the original AP culprits? Both still in hidiing?

No I don't.
I just don't think everyone should get together to just wear a bunch of t-shirts that all essentially say, "We're mad and we're not going to take it anymore" because I mostly think that's kind of lame and potentially ineffective.
And I think the motivations for doing it are more for those who feel kind of helpless about the whole thing to feel better about themselves that they are fighting back at 'the man'.

Sweeping under the rug is a dumb approach too.
But running around in a bunch of t-shirts is the best strategy? Seriously?

Re: Superusers and Silence: How UltimateBet let players get cheated for millions

I think we should organize a big sit-in to attract the media. We can have lighters and candles to make it a peaceful demonstration. We can make up songs about how bad UB and AP are that will be catchy and other people will sing. We can all put flowers in each others' hair to show that we aren't violent people. We can wear buttons that say, "Make Love, Not SuperUsers." We can see if Joan Baez is available to join our cause.

Re: Superusers and Silence: How UltimateBet let players get cheated for millions

Micro

The object isn't to "make a statement". It's just simply to inform other poker players of the situation. If someone is wearing a t-shirt that in some way at least hints to the scandal, those that are unaware will probably ask him about it. And then we have more informed players.

It's just a t-shirt dude.
