Thinking about this more, I guess it is how it works, but you can only make foods so calorie-dense. So 30,000 calories is going to be a **** of a lot of food, whatever form it's in. 3,000 packs of sauce is a LOT.

ya indeed. but he's allowed to vomit. which actually makes it insanely easy as long as he's a disgusting filthy slob of a human being that doesn't mind repeatedly drinking cups filled with BBQ and big mac sauce until he vomits.

He's only allowed to vomit once though.

If he goes to a McDonald's with the new computerized custom kiosks he can easily customize and make burgers that cost over $10 each even without the bacon. Plus he is allowed to throw up one time. He could easily eat a few hundred pieces of bacon right off the bat until he throws up, then he'd only have to eat a few hamburgers and a piece of bacon every 10 minutes or so. Not healthy at all but possible. Don't see why anyone would even attempt this for only $1,000, though.

and he's gotta pay $500 for food if he wins! this bet sucks.

BigMac prices avg $5.06 now in USA, so its a bit less than 200. I tweeted at Matt Stonie (guy who did the above) to see what he thinks. JoeyChestnut already says it has to be at an expensive location and "it would be really hard"

Assuming like $0.50 per packet (can't imagine it can cost more than that) that's 2000 packets. A mcdonalds ketchup packet has 15kcal. So 30000kcal in ketchup packages then. Which he won't be able to finish, ever.

Other sauces are a multitude higher in calories per packet. It just illustrates how ridiculous the idea of $1k in mcdonalds foods are. Only way to win is to somehow bend the rules/actual intention of the bet and angle it.

edit: if above post is correct and a pack is 35c then it's not doable.
edit2: To respond to doublejoker/kessler: It does literally not matter if kids meals are excluded or not. Completely impossible to do this eating kids menus too. Impossible to do this for $500 worth of foods from kids menus too.

Sauces cost next to nothing , ketchup are free at any location I've been at (in canada though) , and their plastic containers of sauce of any type cost like 0.15-0.25 CAD each , I think trying to up your cost with ~4-6 sauces on the dollar is going to make you soo sick so much quicker

How about this. Eat the 300 in burgers with bacon, then use your 1 time vomit. Afterwards use the 700 for apple slices. That doesn't violate the salad rule does it? lol

300 dollars worth, not 300 haha. IDK how many burgers that would be but it would be under 100.

The line of $1k is just so ****ing far from reality of what can be done with ACTUAL FOOD ITEMS from the menu
It also is in the future - he could place the order a few days before so they would have it.

Are there many 24 hour McD's?

I did some research, and I think the BBQ sauce loophole may be too risky.

Gorge as much bacon and sauce as you can, throw up. Have a few normalish high priced meals and a good sleep then go all in on the final hour on bacon and sauce again.

Just keep going around to different Mcd's, get a hold of a manager and say you want to pay $1,000 for a burger. Who knows, maybe you'll find some shady Mcdonalds where the manager will find a way to ring it up

Does it say anywhere in the rules about a party? Throw yourself a couple of birthday parties at a Mcdonalds, they cost extra. You could probably make a few custom burgers that could cost close to 40 dollars or more. I imagine you'd want to be burning a significant amount of calories to able to do this. So I'd have a solid work out strategy. Spaced out over the given time I don't think it would be impossible, theoretically anyway.
