4k is nothing.

FYI lettuce is filling, professional eaters eat lettuce to stretch their stomachs. So spending 200 on salads and trying to eat it would be completely dumb. A better bet would be to get a burger with the maximum amount of bacon. Bacon is expensive and will drive the price up.

It's far less than an apple in each bag and apples have next to no acidity. That said, it's a huge amount of sugar. Each bag is 3 grams, that means that 500 bags is 1.5kg of sugar which is 3.3 pounds.

Much better discussion of this bet was in the OOT fast food thread.

Didn't some guy make a $900 burger on one of the kiosks due to a coding error? Seems like most likely thing is somebody discovered a glitch in the new Signature Crafted Whatever system they just rolled out.

I love McNuggets but this seems overkill.

There's zero chance this guy can do it assuming there isn't some major unseen angle about to happen. Like it's not even interesting in my eyes - it's just straight up impossible. I don't care how big of eater you are or how good of puker you are, you're truly drawing dead as eating $1k of Mcdonalds in just 36 hours is definitely harder than running a sub 2hour marathon (in other words, no human being is yet to conquer such a feat). A fair O/U in my mind is possibly $318 worth of food he's had before he realizes it's utterly hopeless /his body is shutting down from sodium and a light goes off in his head about how stupid bet this was on his part before he quits.. maybe he'll get to $400 before he loses his soul, but anything over 800? No f-ing way.

PS - and Yes I'll bet 1k to win 200 on him not doing it (consume $1k worth of food) if anyone wants to take the other side on him being able to do it (have to be able to send/receive on stars!)

This just ends it IMO. I didn't think it was possible even with the apple slices scheme, but now without some gimmick like eating at an overpriced McDonald's or finding some ridiculously high dollar-calorie ratio hot item no one's thought of yet, I can't see how anyone could make this bet in the first place, at any odds.

Each piece of bacon is an extra $1.09 before tax depending on the store, and the bacon strips arent that big. ~900 strips in 32 hours on a few burgers. Definitely wouldn't be good for you but not impossible.

McDonald's website doesn't seem to have nutritional info for bacon alone, but what I'm seeing elsewhere ranges from 40-140 calories. Taking the low number, that's 36,000 calories of bacon.

Edit to add - on another note:

donkology101, you're right (referring to your since-deleted post in another thread), and I was wrong in my quoted post above. Thread has been fun. Sorry chainsaw - kneejerk reaction.

How much bacon per hour is that? 30 strips?

My initial thought as a fan of competitive eating and silly binging was that this definitely is doable.

After looking through the McD menu and thinking of strategies I think I have to revise me initial thoughts. This is not doable. Probably not even half way doable. The only remote chance I see is the already mentioned apple slices if they REALLY are just 15 calories a pop for $1 each. Have fun driving to every McDonalds in the state to get hundreds and hundreds of those bags

What I also find funny are the two conditions that were highlighted in the Tweet - limiting salad and excluding soft drinks. Would either one have helped? Perhaps diet soft drinks, but I have to question whether a person could churn that much liquid through their body in 36 hours. Maybe it's possible, IDK. But salad - trying to pound through $1,000 in salad would be far worse than the apple slice strategy.

To fulfill the $50 on burgers part, he's got to order 8 quarter pounders. Then add 107 strips of bacon per, that will get he to 1k. So every 4 1/2 hours he has to eat one burger and a strip of bacon every 5 minutes to win. Good luck with that.
