I've watched tons of Stonies vids of YouTube, and while he is an incredible speed-eater, I would still bet against him in this challenge. It's just an absurd amount of food.

Sure, but he's not going to come close. Never was. Doubt anyone could.

yeah this is a joke. would like to see someone put up a good faith attempt at $600 in 36 hours or something like that.

i definitely understood his delusion. when you're crushing those double cheeseburgers it feels like you could keep eating them forever. but you can't!

Yes, that appears to be the case. I listened to Timex talk about this bet on his Twitch stream, explaining why PokerShares wasn't booking action on it... Basically he thought the guy must have an angle that no one had figured out, so he didn't want to post that action. Sadly, there seems to be no angle, no thought, and no preparation... Unless you count getting drunk last night. Ridiculous bet is proving ridiculous.

Guys should be taking bets on if he can eat $300 worth now.

Was really hoping this guy was gonna actually put some effort in, that sucks.

Someone said this on first page, I recall seeing that figure elsewhere as well. 40k at 5:1 odds in his favor was what I thought, but in one of the videos someone tells a cashier he stands to win a million, so I'm not sure.

I wonder how much weight he would gain if he actually completed this challenge.

Probably not much, although he would definitely need to call a plumber.

And as suspected from the start this was about a fat guy simply having zero clue of what foods and calories it's even remotely possible to eat in what period of time.

Someone asked Joey Chestnut and his response was that it would have to be at an expensive location and it would be very hard.

He's just... not very bright.

Noori: My stomach hurts. Drinking last night was a bad idea and I should have planned this better.
Noori: But I'm going to eat what I have here tonight, wake up, and do $800 tomorrow.
Friend: $800? How are you going to get to $200 tonight?
Noori: Uh... Burgers and...
Friend: You can get to $138 tonight, unless you go back to McDonald's.
Noori: Well, we might go to one more McDonald's. Hopefully.
Friend: So you're going to eat all that guacamole?
Noori: That's a lot of guacamole, actually.
Friend: And the chicken breasts? And then go get another $70 of burgers? That's your plan?
Noori: *shrugs*

I know I'm not the only one who said something like this, and pretty much everyone knew it couldn't be done. It was so incredibly obvious that there was absolutely no chance without an amazing angle, and he clearly didn't have one. Who the **** makes this bet, at any odds?

That said, it's cool he's put a charity angle on it, and he's being a good sport about it all, so what the hell I guess.

The amazing angle was to eat 70k calories worth of APPLE (very much not calorie dense) in 36 hours when the best volume eaters in the world eat about 40k calories worth of super-calorie-dense foods in that timespan.

The funny part is that there's no way he even thought of the apple slices before the strategy was brought up in this thread. He very likely literally thought he could eat hundreds of thousands of calories (regular mcdonalds foods) in 36 hours. It's either that or his brain didn't realize that $1000 of mcdonalds foods is hundreds of thousands of calories. I mean, the knowledge gap sort of has to be one of the two:

A. Doesn't understand how much food a person can eat in 36 hours
B. Doesn't understand how much food $1000 gets you at mcdonalds

I'm going with:

C. Didn't even reflect over any of the above but just "I can do it because food"

whos collecting this charity money though? i mean anyone can start a crowdfunding chairty page and say they are going to give it to needy hungry children. lets wait to give him kudos until receipts are shown.

Lol. Harsh, but, well, fair.
Also +1 to those other posts here. Was also hoping he had something up his sleeve, but no. Disappointing.

Noori's friend: "We went to In N Out. And he ate some of the In N Out fries."
I mean... *facepalm*.

Not harsh at all. The guy didn't even try. Embarrassing considering how public this bet was and the amount of money bet on this

That Mike Matusows initial reaction to this was "I can do this no problem, bet me" just adds to my theory that a lot of people just have absolutely zero clue of food intake, what is reasonable and what is not. And I mean absolutely zero clue.

And then they go bet money on it. Fascinating.

Probably got like $10 of food for himself, and won't finish that

This poker pro has been playing highish stakes tournaments for almost 10 years.

I think we, on behalf of the poker community, should send his parents a thoughtful thank you card.
