Which of Mike's duties as Chairman will he first accomplish and which will be the hardest?
1) Invest in software development to deliver an industry leading player experience
2) Improve customer services and strive to resolve player issues in the same day
3) Reward the loyalty of players who start games and keep the action going
4) Look after smaller bankroll players with value added promotions
5) Fight against the use of third party software that gives an unfair advantage
6) Invest marketing budgets within the poker community
7) Develop partypoker Live to become the largest live poker tour in the world
8) Support partners and have their backs
9) Only appoint management who get poker, who are trusted, and who actually care
10) Hold hands up to the poker community when mistakes are made.
===============================================
1) It would have been ideal if partypoker was able to buy FTP's software before. Too many players prefer playing on PokerStars software and don't like partypoker's.
2) Having 24/7 phone support could be an advantage, but first level support can be very frustrating. Need more service-oriented troubleshooters like Party_Rep (Colette) whom you can count on following up with the correct people to work towards a resolution.
3) Will probably be the first to accomplish, as the new loyalty scheme rewards mainly the grinders who can rake $25-$1,200 every single week.
4) The GTO for the majority of recreational players who do not rake >= $25 every week is to play elsewhere where they they will get credit for every cent of rake they pay, instead of zero rakeback. partypoker's promotions will have to be better than PokerStars, etc. to make sense for recs to play there with zero rakeback.
5) It looks like days of HUDs and other software are numbered at partypoker. The gap between recs and pros who will find workarounds will become even wider.
6) partypoker, both online and LIVE, will continue to risk overlays with the aggressive guarantees, as they consider it as marketing expense within the community instead of spending with outside advertisers. There will be a total of $50 million of guarantees with partypoker LIVE this year, and this will double to $100 million next year.
7) Probably the hardest to accomplish, with WSOP and 888Live also expanding. PokerStars may have screwed up the EPT but they are now partnering with the partypoker's former partner, WPT, in marketing swing back-to-back festivals.
8) Synergies with partners such as Playground Poker Club, Dusk Till Dawn, King's Casino Rozvadov, and Eurasian Poker Tour. They will need more partners in Asia and other continents to become the largest tour in the world.
9) Could be another challenge as parent company GVC had no poker expertise. Managers are more likely to have marketing, accounting or other skills besides poker or caring about poker players.
10) Mike understands poker players, so he will continue to have good relations with the community. Hopefully, he and John Duthie will help make improvements with the online product, such as currently no rakeback for recreational players (only if you pay >= $25 rake), 24-hour and other short-term expiring tickets, forced late registration, being forced to register with your expiring ticket only to have the tournament cancelled and not getting a refund, etc.
