man wtf, why are there so many scandals in online poker. everytime one dies down another much more serious comes about. everytime i'm playing online and someone calls my bluff i think its a superuser. this **** is making me go crazy

this announcement is crap. if they are actually telling the truth it's second-rate marketing pap. that's a big if. there is little reason to believe these people will do anything but the bare minimum to address "public outcry" and will not safeguard the site.

anybody currently playing on UB is an idiot. anybody playing there "because the games are soft" is playing right into their hands. can't you see you should boycott UB indefinitely? folks this is your livelihood and our game. if you do not take a stand here you will face this again...and again...and again....and oh look, they're doing another two-month investigation while they see if the internet poker community will just forget about the whole thing.

what happens when someone with real skills gets one of these accounts? there are at least 50 people here on 2+2 who would have the sense and skills and patience to win "only" 9ptbb/100 for life, a few hours here and there, in the higher-stakes games, 1-2mil a year real quiet, no one could prove anything. everyone will just wonder if it's Prahlad. how do you know that's not happening right now?

how do you know one or two of the respected high-stakes players in HSNL doesn't have one of these accounts? you don't.

if you don't send a loud and clear message to the poker sites not to mess with you, you will put yourselves out of a job.

UB will draw this out a bit, find there were "discrepancies" or some bull**** like that, and refund the affected players their money. they'll say "the site is secure now. we've identified the security breach and taken strong measures verified by an independent party (that would be the party they held on their yacht) to prevent this from ever happening again." they will lie. you know this. you expect them to lie. why are you still playing there?

these people do not care about you or the game. all they care about is revenue. they have made that abundantly clear by ignoring this for two months. there is no "oh but" here. blatant cheating was identified, proven statistically, and reported to the site. and they did nothing. they do not care about the integrity of the game unless it affects their bottom line. you shouldn't play on UB. none of you should. send the message: sites must protect the integrity of the game or suffer real consequences. and then tell all your friends UB really is rigged. after all, that's just the truth. lobby them to stop playing there. if you take this crap you deserve to lose.

I dont understand how people dont think this is good news. They are basically admitting, finally, that at least Nionio was cheating. Its 10x better than their past method of simply withholding all information.

Online poker sites like UB and AP will not clean up their own act until the players that patronize them adopt a ZERO TOLERANCE stance towards cheating of any kind AND faulty software that allows people to cheat.

Ultimate Bet is fully owned and operated by Absolute Poker, a site that had a very huge scandal involving a super account that could see all player's hole cards. If the poker community had taken action then and refused to play at AP, it would have sent a message loud and clear to the rest of the online poker companies and gaming commissions that this will not be tolerated. Until this stance is taken by the poker players themselves, companies like AP/UB will continue to operate with lax standards and this situation will crop up again and again--severely damaging online poker as a whole.

AP has never come clean about the original scaldal that was more than a year ago. The guilty parties (high memebers of their corporation) were never brought to justice. I'm not a lawyer, but this kind of cheating at the least would constitute as wire fraud, would it not?

If you care about the future and integrity of online poker, boycott these companies.

So UB made a probe bet it seems they plan to do...............as little as possible (just as expected)

Ok, this is just getting ridiculous. It has been 2 MONTHS since this has came out. What in the hell could possibly be taking so long?? You told me early in the investigation to be patient, that it may take even a couple weeks for them to finish the investigation. Its been more than double that and STILL THERE ARE ARE NO ANSWERS. I could not be more fed up myself with UB right now and I can guarantee you that many people feel the same way. You assured me that UB was going to handle this accordingly because they wouldn't want to make the same mistakes that they made in the AP scandal. For real? Because to me it looks like they're making the same mistakes they made a half year ago. Its clear that all they're doing is brushing this under the rug so that we may forget about it. You know what? We wont. When were talking about this much money this is not going to be simply forgotten about. How in Gods earth can this possibly take 2 months to investigate?? If I had the info that UB has I would be willing to bet my entire bankroll I could conduct this investigation within 1 week.
Please dont respond to this email with a 1 sentence line. Im not going to lie, from the past several emails Ive sent you and the fact that you havent picked up your phone the last 4 times Ive called you, tells me that you don't care about this anymore. Get in contact with UB, find out what is going on. WE NEED ANSWERS. Plain and simple. You need to use your position as a spokesman for UB to not only urge them to reveal the truth, but to help us players receive compensations for what happened. This has gone on too long. But yea, you're right. I dont care about this at all anymore and UB has paid me millions to shut up. Its not like I spent hours upon hours upon hours doing research on these accounts, looking at hands,and gathering information to give to UB so they would take this seriously. What more do you want me to do? People dont understand that the investigation is completely out of my hands. I can do no more at this point.

The only reason why I said that I think this is good news is because this IS clearly the best news (that theyve given out yet) for those that were directly affected by the cheaters. I know from talking to Phil that Nionio is definitely NOT the only account that they're looking at, at least that what he told me. So in reality, im not too scared of them concluding that just Nionio was cheating, but who knows.

BTW I'm not quite sure why everybody is loving Matt Flynn's post so much, basically he gave a bunch of reasons why we shouldnt be playing at UB that everyone should've been able to conclude by now. I mean its pretty obvious at this point that playing at UB comes with more risk factors than playing at another site (****ty customer service, poor w/ cashouts, superusers etc)

I hope you guys get your money back. Just read about this and even though I just play middle stakes (still pay ****loads of rake) I hereby officially declare that I will never play UB again

matt flynn, ub is the only site i win at. i cant beat ftp. i cant beat stars. i couldnt beat party. this is not hypothetical; this is indeed my situation.

it seems to me that rather than lose all my money and get broke and have to find a real job playing on ub is the better option.
