As a tourist, you won't be allowed at sites that do not allow it (because the site is segregated by national law).

What comes to segregation; as long as there is no national law against it, it seems the segregation can include more than one country. In Finland we have a national site that shares its player pool with another EU country (Austria).

What exact laws there are doesn't really interest me, nor would I like to read such texts. I just know there is some mention in the EU law that the countries can segregate gambling (with loose reasons).

Pretty sure Winamax exited UK following the UK POC tax came into force a couple of years back.

Yep and they left Ireland before that. I believe our licence did not require additional taxation but I could be wrong? I was surprised they didn't get the Irish licence.

Irish regulated for sports betting only; 2% of turnover iirc. Most operators continue to offer online poker and casino games under an offshore license

Well if they really said that, it's a misunderstood CS rep. French law explicitly permit players from other countries. Only restriction is that payments must come from an EU bank account.

The reason why PokerStars made their French room France-only is in preparation for EU shared liquidity.
