Re: SNG Glitch on Stars

Wow.

This is a tough situation, obviously any person who can be identified as out and out abusing the glitch should have money seized.

However what about people who won money and had no idea their opponent was abusing the glitch.

They put up their 5K, won the HU SNG and won the money. It's nto their fault their opponent was abusing.

Their opponent stole 5K when he bought in without having to pay. Stars is basically saying "Yeah he stole from us, but we are going to pass the theft on to you"

Re: SNG Glitch on Stars

I understand what Stars is thinking here: They think some players swarmed to these matches to play legitimately because of their increased equity from playing abusers who were shoving all-in every hand. I'm sorry, but that suspicion is NOT enough to take money from grinders like diBasio who were just out and about on their normal games and showed absolutely zero abnormal activity. You don't get to try to cash in on your equity for being such a trusted site for so long in order to save some programmer's ass. Do what you usually do and make this right.

Stars cannot simply treat it like "the games never took place". The fact is, they did, and thats that. People who dont understand this cant possibly be winning players.

Stars cannot seize money from a player who won legitimately whether or not the loser in question had the sufficient funds.

The ONLY way to act on this is as follows:

-Legitimate winners will be allowed to keep the money.
-Losers can be given a negative balance(which they dont have to legally pay), and whether stars recovers funds from these players is their problem.
-Pairs who abused this rule, like nugloker, using chipdumping should have the winnings seized as they weren't legitimately won.

Using this method, everyone comes out breakeven and balanced, with the exception of pokerstars suffering from those who do not repay their negative balance due to a glitch that was pstars fault.

HOW CAN ANYONE POSSIBLY THINK OTHERWISE?
Yeah, this guy has it right.

Re: SNG Glitch on Stars

unreal...

Online poker is getting sketchhhhyyyy.

I wish I ran a financial business with absolutely no oversight and no appeals or litigation processes for its clients. Then if I ever screwed up, I could just charge my clients a mill or two and puff...problem gone.

Re: SNG Glitch on Stars

It would be funny if it's not sad:

Player A put whole 5K roll in HUSNG, lose it and then his opponent (Player B, a reg with 100+K roll) rejected rematch for some reason.

But since Player A clicked on Accept rematch button w/o any $$$ on account, PS will take all the money from Player B because Player A tried to use the glitch...

Really not funny

(except maybe the look on the face of Player A after rematch was cancelled)

No not really, in fact banks are some of the most regulated businesses on the planet.

I am not saying they arent regulated... I am saying their regulations sucks.

Ask some of UK/dutch people that had savings in banks in Iceland ? Where are their money?

I am sorry, I was just trying to be ironic in previous posts because the whole thing on PS is so serious. I felt (wrong) it could help

Someone with their roll over $20K, go to his $400/$800 8-game table, and ask him....you won't.

Yeah. I think this is the only right way for stars to handle things. As a business like stars, you wanna punish those people who intentionally exploited the glitch, but in the meantime you dont wanna punish your most valuable customers - those legit regular HU players. They risked their own money and pay stars rake, which is pretty high if you ask me, to win those money unless of course stars can come up with concrete proof that the match was intentionally staged to exploit the glitch.
If stars can't prove it, the legitimate players should keep the winnings.
In the case of high stakes matches with one regular against an un-known, it is highly unlikely that the two colluded. The reg saw a big fish and play and the fish used the glitch to play the high stakes and try to win as much money as possible - it is as simple as that. It is clear to me who of the two you need to punish and take money from.

Re: SNG Glitch on Stars

How come when players were snapfold cheating the last billion hand promo they were allowed to keep their winnings but players playing legitimately are not only having winnings taken away, but not having losses to cheaters refunded?

Is it only that the amount of money Stars stood to lose in the billion hand promo didn't change because of the cheaters?

Is this some kind of eighth-level metajoke? **** happens? This is a COLOSSAL ****up, and it is 100% entirely PokerStars fault. What next? Some PokerStars tech trips over a power cord and they debit all the players' accounts for lost revenue due to down-time?

We all trust these poker sites to take care of our money. Checking to see that someone in a game actually has the money to be there is extremely basic and there is no excuse for this to have happened. When you fall asleep at the wheel, you are responsible for whatever you crash into.

When a player sits down and, in good faith, puts his money at risk and wins fair and square, there is no acceptable reason for PokerStars to take that money away. The fact that guy on the other side of the table had $0 is his account is PokerStars fault and PokerStars problem.
