It seems the major mistake these guys made is not hiring a roster of poker pros to represent them.

Or maybe they did, but just referred to said roster as their "Poker Team."

Really interesting read. Would any pro want to just take the offer of a random shady company like this and put his/her reputation on the line without a little research? Not sure. Maybe if they presented themselves really well or at least better than they do in their vids linked here.

This is honestly in contention for the best post ever on 2+2.

If I separate it into two words and look up "Poker Stox," I still end up with references to Stox Poker when listed with another page (e.g. a page that reads "Full Tilt Poker, Stox Poker, Cardrunners..." might come up).

Oh well. The reference to Betty Carey in the two Whois lookups is more interesting than anything else. Maybe she knows Jack and Kendall.
I googled pokerstox in all lower case.

Why not? Celebs in other fields, primarily actors, do it all the time. Reader's Digest had a nice article recently from a reformed con man who talked about getting actors to shill for the product.

As explained earlier in this thread, they claimed PayPal took their money.

Also smart people fall for scam al the time, i can name a handful of people i know irl that fall for all kind of stupid scams. Most of time these scams plays with your emotions, whether it is greed or lack or love or we. These things you cannot control. Although you might find it weird how they fall for it

Na i'm happy with my comment. Sorry I just don't believe smart people fall for scams all the time. I'd argue unless the scam is elaborate, possibly using trusted people, then a person falling for that scam is not smart. Like I don't think any smart people fell for the scam ITT.

She gives some props to Kilowatt for noticing the "predictably rhythmic" pattern of losing days, extrapolating it to two months worth of returns. Nothing earth-shattering in the blog that hasn't been mentioned at some point in this thread, but it's still pretty entertaining to see what happens when Haley digs her talons into a situation like this.
Thanks for the mild compliment. I did note that the positive figures claimed could not be realistically matched to any sort of tournament grinding, since the reality of that is to have lots of little losses mixed in with some big, big days, and zero of those big days (representing a nice tourney score) were present in the claimed results.

Also, I did ID "Jack" and "Kendall" as fiverr.com users who supplied those videos on the cheap. That info is in a just-posted update over at FlushDraw. Someone else can link it if they wish; don't bring the whole story here.

As for Snoop Kid's digging, good stuff so far and keep on digging. I'd like to see if some of those trails pan out, but I would be absolutely flabbergasted if someone as old-old-old-school as Betty Carey was involved in this. I'll keep my eyes and mind open to all the stuff that emerges, however.

This is laughably untrue. Smart is a broad word that encompasses things such as common sense (as well as other things). Falling for 99% scams (especially if it's not your first time getting scammed) means that you lack common sense.

Not that it means anything, but I am considered to be very smart and I have yet to fall for any of these scams even once.

Facebook Post on PokerProxy random group:

"Stephen Pettyjohn: So the paypal bit was probably made up (or it happened, but would not have been significant enough to cause the crash). I took the time to find their bitcoin address on the blockchain. They went broke because they were not managing their bitcoin risk properly. The bitcoin deposit's liabilities far exceeded the balance in the account because hey were playing in fiat during bitcoin's meteoric rise. I did some cursory math on the transaction history in their bitcoin address and I believe that they are in the red (on their bitcoin deposits) by at least 95,000. So, even if they are playing legitimately it will take quite a while to rebuild that much capital. The good news is that if it turns out to be a scam, they didnt use proper identity concealment in a number of places meaning it'll actually be possible to prosecute the fraud."

" Its a little early to start a witchhunt when the site might be done for another reason (its happened before). Ill post names of the people I know are involved tomorrow. If we have someone in Ontario who can open a lawsuit that would probably be the best place to start"

And this is why you will fail, Smart people generally don't have the best common sense compared to an average joe. Trust me, if you have a smart person if your group of friends he will lack the most common sense. I guess your that person...

That's incorrect. Smart, by definition, includes common sense. If someone doesn't have common sense, then they aren't really smart
