nah, just ignorant and 'blessed' w/ a bad memory

in my teenage years and early 20s i was a hardcore simpsons fan .. then i meet my wife ... a few years later a friend gave me all the episodes and i watched them all.

imo the new seasons aren't better, but they are not bad either. like other season before you'll find great and good ones, some mediocre and bad ones, too.
i don't get it, why ppl complain, that the old ones are so much better, but my guess is, that the something that happens in the past, always was better (e.g. a ton of ppl say they had so much fun in school, b/c almost all the bad things you'll forget)

think its ****ing hilarious how homer thinks the college fund is safer in an online poker account than the banks, i can see some BF affected ameriacns raging hard

As a result of Black Friday the government seized a lot of money from poker sites. Of the 4 sites affected 3 of them failed, mostly due to their own faults, 1 of them survived and even bailed out the 2nd biggest site in addition to paying a hefty fee to the govt.

In the lead up to the 2008 financial crisis the federal government was enacting legislation that was favorable to banks including reducing regulations, they even exerted pressure in other ways for at least a decade prior to the collapse that prevented states from trying to reign in the predatory lending practices. When the SHTF a number of banks failed even though trillions of payer dollars was funneled into banks to keep things from getting worse but a number of banks failed and it took years before we could even see the situation possibly getting better but we're still facing quite a bit of issues from that mess.

If the banks start going crazy again and more banks collapse then it's up to the government (FDIC), which is saddled with a big deficit, hasn't passed a budget and owes over $16 trillion, to cover the loses.

Unfortunately, that money may be safer on a poker site (PokerStars at least) than in a bank is not completely absurd.

Agree, the only funny episode I can think of, off the top of my head post season 9 is Angry Dad.

Center european view(disclaimer:center is not west but also not east): Simpsons were first issue which made me to think that USA are in problems. I am not sure how significant it is but to these days I like to see Treehouses of Horror.
Never laughed at Simpsons like for example on hippie episode of South Park and many others.
Simpsons are genial but somewhat sad.
