This thread was a lot better during Posts 1-9. Took a real substantial decline at Post 14. I always loved this thread as a kid, but nowadays I find it hard to watch.

The simpsons actually has been good the past five years. There was a big drop off from around season 10 to season 15, but has since redeemed itself. If you are a fan I challenge you to watch a current episode, they are pretty good. Obviously not early 90s good but still enjoyable. The reason this show is still on is because the ratings are still through the roof, the Simpsons are the highest rated sitcom on Fox, higher than Family Guy. There might be a lot of "fanboys" who will watch any garbage the simpsons spit out but I think the ratings are a testament to the quality of product they are producing, which like I said has been pretty good as of late.

Seasons 1-10 I would fight to the death over. That was some of the best tv ever made.

Simpsons now is just terrible. I will watch, simply because of the poker.

the first season of the simpsons was ****ing terrible. i'll give people the benefit of the doubt though because it was a long time ago. quite often i'll see some show on cable that i liked when i was a kid and i'm just embarrassed for kid me at the horrible **** that i watched.

Simpsons was the nuts before they had any competition.

they used to be the edgiest cartoon next to beavis and butthead.

Family guy South Park Futurama and the rest of the bunch just crush them now.

Its not that they have gotten worse. its that other cartoons are just better

Simpsons 1-7 was the greatest series ever on TV. Season 8 had a couple good episodes and nearly everything since then has been utter crap. They basically tell you how it's going to be in the spinoff showcase of season 8 when they say they're going to keep it going until the show becomes unprofitable. I don't know where people are getting this season 9 or 10 crap, they were terrible.
