Re: Shaun Deeb playing the ladies' event? Pictures to come!

Leave Shaun alone. He's not happy at all the criticism

Shaun propbets someone and if he loses he has to beat up a few homosexuals outside a gay bar and give the contents of their wallets to charity ? Then 2+2 woud go "oh but he wasn't gaybashing at all cuz it was meant to be a joke" without regards to the victims.

The same with the ladies event, it seems like most poker players think you can just screw with that because it's something not to be taken seriously anyway, that's a clear sign of disrespect and lack of manners. A man playing a woman's event is a selfish douche, nothing more nothing less.
Did you pull a pectoral muscle making that stretch?

Beating up homosexuals is illegal. A man playing in a Ladies' Only poker tournament is perfectly legal. Harrah's trying to enforce a Ladies' Only poker tournament, on the other hand, is not.

Re: Shaun Deeb playing the ladies' event? Pictures to come!

OK. I might be an idiot idk. but this **** has me on some serious tilt. I do not feel threatened or descriminated against in any way because of there being a ladies only tourney in the wsop. I dont even care if its an official bracelet event. I really cannot understand why anyone would protest this at all. I mean is this really a big issue? do the people so admently against this really feel this is a important issue? The very thought of people going out of their way to protest this event make me want to smash my head against the wall. Why not go after the United Negro Colledge Fund next??
Its a ladies poker tounament. Give your head a shake guys.

lol so true. i really doubt that there are many married poker players that wouldnt want an event for their wife to play in. id be worried if my wife played in an open event that i would have to beat someones ass.

Re: Shaun Deeb playing the ladies' event? Pictures to come!

There are far too many people in this world who do things just because the law says they can. Discrimination laws were not formed to allow men to play in ladies events, they were formed to ensure things like equal wages.

People who use these laws to try be funny and clever just come across as the complete opposite.

It's just a shame common sense can't be legislated.

Here's a question -- if it's so small an issue, why are the handful of men (1% of the field at most) who are doing no more than exercising their Constitutionally guaranteed and NGC-sanctioned right to play in the tournament getting shat upon three ways from Sunday?

They are legally in the right to play, they are morally in the right to play (women cannot simultaneously want equality and preferential treatment without being hypocrites), and they were subject to harassing searches, threats of suspensions and banning, and EXTREMELY inappropriate insults from a representative of the WSOP.

Harrah's is 100% in the wrong, they're lying through their face about their motivations, and yet all of this for something that "isn't a big deal"?

Why have women been protesting to get into Augusta National Golf Club? How is that any different?

+1.

There's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. Those using these laws to enter women only tournaments haven't understood the first thing about what the spirit of those laws mean.

Women only tournaments are not even remotely close to being a problem for anyone - they are completely harmless and hurt noone. Anyone seriously thinking this is a cause that they need to champion based on equality and/or discrimination-issues, haven't a clue about the real issues of this world.

The most surprising thing about this entire issue is that Shaun Deeb actually left the house and came into contact with the sun's rays

So the women who have been lobbying to break down doors at men's only clubs, gyms, golf courses and the like are equally blithe about the spirit of the law? Or are you trying to flat-out say that "discrimination against men is not discrimination" and "only bigoted attitudes towards women are real bigoted attitudes"?

They are getting shat upon because they are playing in a ladies event. And I really question their motives. Do you really believe they are playing to exercise their constitutional right? give me a break. They are taking advatage of the soft field. Do you people really your head that far up your ass that the only thing you see is a great big pile of constitutional ****? Lighten up. ITS A LADIES EVENT FOR THE LADIES. Some of whom are in town because their hausbands are here for the wsop and this gives them a chance to participate.

and lol @ comparing Agusta National to the wsop which has over 50+ open events.

lol @ comparing WSOP with 50+ open events to the thousands of golf clubs with open memberships...? I don't get it. Why does the same logic not apply to the men who want to congregate exclusively in the company of other men? When women fight to batter down that barrier, it's a righteous blow against discrimination.

How does your "Lighten up" rhetoric not apply here. It's just a country club, seems as trivial as a poker tournament in the term of "constitutional rights".

And I love how it only takes you one sentence to go from "Lol look at all the open events men can play in" to "it takes a segregated event to give these women a chance to participate". What about all the 50+ open events, how can they not participate in that?

"Because they're beginners?"

Then why not replace the illegally discriminatory event with a beginner's event that will get more new blood with less effort? Because Harrah's doesn't really want new players? Because they're being just as shifty about THEIR motivations for holding the event as you claim the men are who are playing in it?

No, I am, as I pretty clearly stated, talking about women only poker tournaments. Not about golf course, gyms or anything else. Women only poker tournaments. And in their current form and numbers they are not even remotely close to being a problem for anyone or any cause. Nor are they ever likely to be.
