Re: Sam Grizzle

I saw Grizzle playing $1/$3 PLO and $1/$3 NL @ Aria. Played bigger with him he is beyond funny. Caught a glimpse of him asking for a $1,000 stake into the $15/$30 limit and saying he would turn it into $2,500 within an hour. Also stated he is the greatest heads up limit player ever and mixed game player.

HAHA just found the story online as told by Doyle Brunson...I screwed it up big time but the gist of the story is the same. Just do a search on this linked page for the word puke and it will bring you right to Doyle's old quote on RGP(rec gambling poker). http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Arch.../msg10866.html

Re: Sam Grizzle

My friend saw him on the rail at Aria 2 nights ago, he said he thinks he was scoping out the room to find a sucker to stake him.

[Sam Grizzle has been kicked out of many poker rooms. I have played
with Sam many times, and although he is brash and arrogant, I get a
kick out of some of the funny things he says. A few years ago at the
WSOP we were playing in a pot limit omaha game. Sam was getting beat up
pretty bad, he stood up with a handful of 100's and said, "Y'all took
most of my money, so I'm gonna take whats left and go get me a whore,
let her rape me like y'all did. Have a good night." RzItUp 1999 RGP

Re: Sam Grizzle

I heard a great story involving Sam. Can't remember if my friend who told it to me witnessed it or heard it from someone who did.

Anyways this guy who lent Sam $5,000 a few years ago (non regular poker player, prob high stakes businessman fish) runs into Sam at the Bellagio and asked him for the money he owes. Sam, calmly and like he has every intention of paying asked the guys name. Guy tells him who he is and Sam pulls out a little pad and starts flipping through pages until he stops and says, "I got here that you owe me five thousand!" and the guy went ape**** on him and went straight for his neck.

I like u less than I like me. U seem to always be trying to impress anyone who will listen. Either stop it and realize I'm a total loser who has no control or chill.

Re: Sam Grizzle

It's true what someone mentioned earlier in the thread that he punched Rod Peete in the face (at the Bicycle Club). Hadn't heard the "sucker punch" claim previously, but it's certainly believable.

Unrelated story I witnessed:

About 12 years ago he was playing No Limit on one of the Chicago area boats. It was the big game on that boat.
He gets up to stretch, and a pretty Asian dealer walks by.
He starts to talk to her, and quickly reaches down, picks up a big stack of $100 chips, and while speaking to her makes sure she notices the chips, holding them at chest level and shuffling them from hand to hand while he chats her up.

fav part:

[The meanest poker player isn't in question- it's Sam Grizzle. I
haven't been playing much lately but the one time I played Sam was on a
rush and ribbing all of us every hand. He had just played Annie Duke
and beat her for four racks of black chips. He lost a small pot, got
up, said "nice doing business, Annie Puke." He was beating Tommy Fisher
every pot and announced they had taken the -er off Tom's last
name--Tommy Fish. Doyle Brunson RGP Post]
