Pro or amateur, champ or not, why do people go on diluting themselves that others represent them? lol

Yep. I don't understand what his rationale behind investing in FB and AAPL could be other than "I've heard of those companies"

Did you expect him to tell the boring truth? "I chose Union Pacific because I have smart friends who told me it was a good buy"

He did not prepare for the interview at all. He could have at least rolled off some memorized statistics such a P/E ratios to sound somewhat intelligent.

At least he wasn't as bad as the Chevy Guy the other night at the World Series. That was truly painful to watch. Poor bastard.

Ryan Reiss was a very deserving champ last year and I think he came off fine in this interview. It's hard for everyone to be as eloquent and professional as Raymer.

Not sure why Riess gets so much hate, played with him a few times during APAC, he was polite, friendly, took time to chat with casual players and played reasonably well (obviously he's not Ivey level good or whatever and the best in the world thing is lol, but he is a legitimate good winning player)

I think he's the best ambassador we've had for poker of any of the recent young 20somethings to win the main

For what it's worth if he invested a year ago and those are his top 4 holdings he's been killing it so I don't understand the hate. Think each is up 25-50% over the past 12 months so he has well outperformed the market.

In a few years he'll be forced to sell off his Best Investor Bracelet. That'll be sad.

Don't think thats helping him out as much as you think because its a pretty good time to sell short in general.

It's a little unclear from the OP, but if he invested the bulk of his after-tax $2m winnings in individual stocks, he's doing it wrong with regard to specific risk.

Also lol at anyone having a favorite American railroad company. They are all horribly antiquated.

I was watching when he came on and he was fine until the union pacific part. Had he just reworded it like saying he buys what he knows and likes and then threw in a good financials, earnings, other stocks terms, etc it wouldn't have been as awkward.

I'm also going to say the interview questions weren't very good as well. Here you have an amatuer investor who says he handles stocks by himself and talks to smart people and no questions about his strategy or how much time he spends researching and following the market, whether he's more of investor or a trader.....that would have made for a more interesting interview.
