Re: Russ Hamilton's Banner Re-hung at WSOP

Morality in poker is a rare thing. Does Phil H receive heat and have threats about his banner? He was part of the UB....How picky does one get...

I agree with the WSOP POV that the banners honor/celebrate/acknowledge one moment in time....the wsop main event title that year.

Re: Russ Hamilton's Banner Re-hung at WSOP

people who are saying that it's too ambiguous to take down 1 banner vs another vs another are being lawyerish kill-joys (has to be a better word for that...).

i think its safe to say that the WSOP or Harrahs, whoever is in charge, can do whatever they want--leave Russ/Chris up, take them both down, or something in between.

personally, I would take Russ down and leave Chris up (think the jury's still out on him), and the argument that we don't want people to know what happened is pretty self-interested (but maybe practical).

Of all the improvements that WSOP 2012 could offer over WSOP 2011, adding Russ Hamilton's banner should be pretty low on the list.

Also, the logic that because thievery is wide spread we should remove one of the few possible remaining sanctions against a leading thief is pretty terrible. That should be an argument to remove more banners of cheats, not less.

I've never seen any connections between Phil Hellmuth and the UB scams. It's not like he was Ferguson/Lederer who was getting tens of millions pumped into his bank account...

I agree with the whole history etc. thing for Ferguson but Russ cheated at the table, albeit online. Perhaps his WSOP win was also less than reputable. Maybe he just luckboxed, but do we really know? I mean he could have known everyone's cards.

Your post is abysmal, you should stop posting because this level of idiocy adds nothing to this thread.

LOL this. Bravo WSOP for not budging to bullying and simulataneously trolling your customers.

exactly. everyone knows that most of these guys' prime motivation for scamming is to retroactively get onto a banner, so you take that away, and bam, problem solved.
