Russ Hamilton "admitted" to cheating players online

This past weekend I was in Charbucks to get a coffee, wearing my WSOP tshirt from last year and this guy in front of me turns around and notices my shirt and starts chatting me up about poker. Really nice guy. Anyways, he mentions that he was an investor in an online poker site where you play for a monthly fee and earn points bla bla bla and was asking me why a site like his hasn't gotten the traction he thought it would, etc...

Anyways, so then he drops this bomb that one of the other investors was Russ Hamilton and wondered if I had heard of him. Jeebus, I was like what site are you talking about, and mentions Club UB. I asked him if Russ took his money and ran. He laughed and said not really but that this part of the business didnt fare so well.

So, we continued talk about UB and Russ and the guy mentions that Russ used to brag about how he used to goad rich guys he met traveling to go to UB and play poker against him heads up. He took a bunch of these guys for millions, not counting the millions that were being taken from the rest of the players playing there. He said the site was rigged so he could see the cards and these mokes would get so upset cause they couldnt catch a card to win a hand. I couldnt believe Russ would admit to this but thats what this guy says. He says Russ laughed it off saying anyone playing online are suckers and deserve to loose their money.

Apparently, all those televised BJ shows were self financed by Russ from all the money he took off of players on UB. They were effectively infomercials cause they were not picked up by the networks nor had commercial support.

He also mentions that some major **** is coming down on Russ. He has been interviewed a few times by the FBI and they are building a case at the moment. Also, a couple of the rich guys he scammed are suing him in civil court as well.

[Caveat: I dont know this guy. I dont know if he is full of ****. I dont know if he has an ax to grind. Just interesting none the less]

Re: Russ Hamilton admitted to cheating players online

Good story. I knew that the FBI and IRS were going to look into him.

Remember all those stories back in October 2006 about how UB was sold to Blast-Off Ltd? How it was posted that it was just Russ buying back his companies. Then Russ got mad about the story coming out. Blast-Off Ltd was a licensee of Excapsa. So it is know that Blast-off Ltd, even though said to be owned by Joe Norton, was around before Joe Norton.

Quote:
Blast Off Ltd.. is the provider of online Elimination Blackjack ™ and was represented by the ULtimate Blackjack Tour closely with Excapsa.

The Ultimate Blackjack Tour, was the spiritual child of former WSOP Champions Ultimate Bet and team member, Russ Hamilton.
Then people start to realize that Russ Hamilton pulled a fast one. I mean a guy that has been cheating people for roughly two years is not going to let his golden goose go away. His buddy Mansour owned the domain to Blast-Off, and we know from the UB Prop Manager that Mansour aka Shah ignored the possibility of cheating.

Also from Paul Leggetts interviews, we know that Tokwiro Enterprises was not setup until April-June of 2007. That it was indeed Blast-Off Ltd that was the compnay that held UB "In Trust"
Quote:
Susan – When did Joe Norton setup Tokwiro Enterprises?
Paul L – The company was established in April 2007. The companies Absolute Poker and UltimateBet were both purchased in October 2006, but the companies & assets were held in trust for Tokwiro until he had time to setup the finances and the corporate entity in April 2007.
Some more about what Paul Leggett had to say in his video interview about Tokwiro buying UB and Blast-Off Ltd.

Quote:
Question #6
Susan – Lets be clear about timelines. Tokwiro acquired UltimateBet in October 2006. It wasn’t incorporated in Quebec until June 2007, so who owned it in 2006?
Paul L – The companies were purchased by Joseph Norton in October 2006. Then the assets and the businesses were held in trust until Tokwiro Enterprises could arrange, or make financial arrangements and setup the Corporate Entity. Tokwiro Enterprises was filed in April 2007 and it was officially registered in Quebec in July 2007.

Question #7
Susan – What was Blast-Off?
Paul L – Blast-Off is basically the company that held the assets in trust for Tokwiro Enterprises until it was established.

Question #8
Susan – In any case it’s all Joe Norton. Joe Norton bought them. Joe Norton setup Tokwiro. Joe Norton put these companies into Tokwiro.
Paul L – Yes. These types of companies that are used for the transition of ownership happen a lot and this is just one of these instances.
We know that Tokwiro is a sole proprietorship for Blast-Off Ltd.

It is common knowledge that The sole proprietorship is the simplest legal structure for owning your own business. Google it and you will see.

So why did it take from Oct. 2006 to late April-June 2007 for Mr. Joe Norton to setup the finances and corporate entity?

It would appear that Blast-Off started out doing Blackjack stuff for UB, which is all Russ Hamilton. Then at sometime Russ convinces Joe Norton "to be the owner of Blast-Off" This works b/c then Blast-Off owns UB, and since Mr. Norton is a Mohawk, it is his sovereign right to own a gambling business. This is also the same as Bodog letting the Morris Mohawk Group use the Bodog brand.

Russ Hamilton also most likely used the money he cheated to fund and start his Ultimate Blackjack Tour as well as pay for the software development for his elimination Blackjack.

Not true, the shows were self financed by the Ultimate Blackjack Tour but not self financed by Russ. I know one of Russ's partners/backers for this show, I wont name names because I dont know if he wants to be outed but I can assure you he is not happy with Russ.

How about if I give you a list of names, can you narrow it down?

Kinda sounds like a technicality. If BJT is owned by Russ, it was funded by Russ to put the shows on. This guy was pretty clear that Russ funneled money from the UB scam to support the tour. Also, it sounds like your guy maybe the same guy who spoke to me. Does the guy your talking about come to Maui often?

Re: Russ Hamilton admitted to cheating players online

Forgot to mention. A few of the named superuser accounts have some close similarities with the UBT. h_curtis and Twenty 1. taken from this press release: http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-new...-Status-Update

Also, the superuser account dannyboy55 won seats to the Aruba poker classic in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 flipflop2 also won a seat. Either way,the h_curtis and Twenty 1 account have too many similarities between the UBT, Blackjack, and Russ hamilton.
