How do you get that lesson from this history? Of course crime pays. It doesn't pay for undisciplined Oxy-addled coke addicts, but it sure would have paid if this guy had a fingernail's worth of patience and care.

His screen name and location never fail to get a laugh out of me: the guy definitely has a clever sense of humor.

Thing thing that always confused me about this was that this dude just strolls in a casino with a motorcycle helmet on and isn't immediately tackled.

Supposedly the Bellagio 10-20 regs knew it was him but he was too good for the game to rat out.

Wow - what a loser.

At least he admits he's too lazy to earn the things he wants. Most just want someone else to pay their way and hate on anyone who has actually built anything on their own as being "lucky in life".

And he left Cranada for nine years in Cramada - sweet.

Haha, I actually believe this. I can't imagine that one dealer was the only one who noticed he jumped into a game he had no business in.

he was playing in the rotating suncoast/palms 5/5 mandatory 10-50 game on the button for weeks around this time. a few people were talking about he was the robber but nobody really took it seriously. i flew home from vegas and a few days later saw him on the news.

Good article. I remember the original thread. This guy was an idiot and is obviously a complete loser. It had to take a massive amount of balls to do the crime, though.

It's been about 5 years right? Wonder if he'll be getting out soon on parole or early release, or if the 9-year sentence was mandatory?

The account still exists, maybe he'll say hi when he gets out?

People in this thread saying he didn't earn his money lol

Guy risked 25 years in prison for 1.5 million. Just because it's a crime he didn't earn it? no. Problem is people who take risks like this are usually their own downfall.

Well that and waving loaded guns around and shoving them in croupiers faces is hugely traumatic for their victims and dangerous to them and anyone else nearby.

It is impossible for me to find any measure of respect for the self centered evil ****s that indulge in violent crime, even if they did so thinking they had a 95% chance of being shot in the groin and imprisoned for life.

So if I break into your house and steal everything you own, you'll say I earned it because I risked going to prison?

Will OceanSpray25 be able to play pokerz in Las Vegas casinos (presumably he's 86ed from the B) after his release? Or would that be a parole violation? Will he be in the Black Book?

Yeah some people dont get that. If I was ever going to steal a bunch of money I would burglarize a bank or something. Wouldn't do that either.

Great article by the way.

That's hilarious

Poker regs are a rare breed.

Pretty standard. Doyle Brunson played high stakes poker with Jimmy Chagra. Who was Jimmy Chagra? Just a drug king-pin who had a federal judge assassinated.

My gf's brother did time for robbing someone in a casino parking garage and one of the top conditions of his parole was to not set foot in any casino. I am curious as well as to the lengths they would go to enforce that and where to draw the line. Lotto scratchers? Charity poker tournament outside of a casino?

I would imagine with the notoriety of the Bellagio Bandit that he would be in the black book but you never know. The way he was portrayed in the article leads me to believe he's a favorite to re-offend. It seems he regrets the way he handled the cranberries and not the robbery itself. His mentality of making his own fortune with just balls and determination combined with having felt the ultimate rush of "getting away" with it, albeit for a short time; I feel he's probably been doing a lot of thinking about how to do it the right way next time.

Also makes me wonder if the panel on the parole board will take anything he said in that article into consideration considering the implications of remorse or lack thereof.

How incredibly stupid. If you're going to run in a steal a bunch of chips, it seems like you'd have some sort of a plan to get rid of them. Super weird. JayZ and The illuminati probably put him up to it.

This thread should be titled "Tony Carleo is a scammer and theif" (yes, misspelling included).

Also, I like the photo at the top of the article: No Cash Value chips.

Fun read, though.

Woody Harrelson's dad was the hit man who capped the judge.
