ROBL Speaks up

http://andrewrobl.com/blog/2011/06/0...s-non-payment/

"Phil Ivey’s statement was solely self-serving. He is trying to cover his own ass and unassociate himself with full-tilt’s current legal situation/non-paying of players. Phil Ivey is one of the primary equity holders of full tilt and has profited off their business more than almost anyone. If he really cared about the players he would pledge to return every cent of the TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars he’s made from Full Tilt to the players as Tom Dwan (who is not a owner) has done.

Instead he made a public statement that dramatically hurt Full Tilt’s reputation and brand at a critical moment. Full Tilt has been searching for a bridge-loan/investment to cover all player funds and Phil Ivey’s statement has hurt their chances to do so. It is a lot harder to sale an investment in a poker site who’s most marketable player is making damning public statements against them.

Phil Ivey used this statement all to save his own ass and his own money. He has servely hurt the US players chances of being paid in a timely fashion under, the guise of helping them."

and the **** getting real continues

Re: ROBL Speaks up

Andrew Robl, biggest toolbox ever?

I love the angle people are taking that Ivey suing FT to either force their hand or expose their shady **** is bad because "OMG suckers won't put money on FT anymore so kiss American players' money goodbye."

Whistleblowers usually are heavily criticized by their peers, and often by the ignorant masses they intend to help.

while some of it seems well thought out, i can't take any of it seriously when reading through the numerous spelling/grammatical errors. if you are going to make a statement like that, least you can do is proofread.

Re: ROBL Speaks up

From his statement:

"But due to the fact that I have a large sum of money on Full Tilt and the fact that I have much more information about this matter than the general public I feel obligated to comment."

Then he states later:

"Disclaimer: Most of the my statement is coming form limited information/sources and I could be wrong"

Why would you ever say something like that?

Both of those statements can be true.

He recognizes this isn't all 100% fact, but he really does know more than you about whats going on.

Seriously, it's pathetic. Robl is just another guy who is great at poker and may or may not understand actual business (I've always lumped the guys who run FTP into this category fwiw). Just cause he's good at poker doesn't mean he's any more worth paying attention to than the average NVGtard on this issue, and frankly I do question his general intelligence after reading that post.

How in god's name can you mangle 'severely' into 'servely'? It's like he's a 12 year old just trying to sound out words into letters.

The first quote would make me think he has credible inside information, the second seems like a catch all where if he turns out to be wrong he has an out. If he knows what he is talking about why make that disclaimer?

Re: ROBL Speaks up

Anyone that thinks he's just being a clueless prick is shortsighted imo, considering his close friends he most certainly has a better viewpoint than 99.9% of the people that will post in this thread. He's just giving his opinion on the information he has, if anything be happy some people are speaking up as it at least offers entertainment and could spark reponses from those involved or those that know more information than we do.
