Cissy was a great friend and I and many others who knew her well will miss her very much.

For those who didn't know her, she was a terrific limit hold 'em player. In fact, when I first moved to Las Vegas, she was easily the best played who sat at my tables. Her husband "Bottoms" was also an excellent player.

Best wishes,
Mason

RIP Cissy Bottoms
The first time I played with Cissy, I was 18 years old. I was winning everyday and way to confident and cocky. She looked at me like I was crazy. If I could of read her mind it would of said "Who is she" or Who does she think she is"? That night she schooled me. I lost every pot to her and she definitely humbled me. I learned a big lesson that night.

We became very good friends after that. I would have to say that she was a great Limit Holdem Player and continued to make money at poker her entire life.
She had a lot of love and tremendous respect for the game.

It makes me sad that a lot of the young people in poker didn't get a chance to know her. If I had a say in who should be inducted into the Hall of Fame she would get all of my votes. She only had one job in her life and that was poker. She truly was the real deal.

She was a great friend and I will truly miss her.
With so much respect and love to her.

Not every day that Jennifer Harman posts here. That says a lot about Cissy Bottoms IMHO.

I had certainly heard her name plenty of times and I feel I must have played against her back in the Old Days. A search for a picture on Google was, ah, awkward. Does anybody have a good picture of her?

Indeed, condolences to her family and obviously many friends in the poker community.

Regards, Lee

Sad. I knew Cissy from the mid eighties. A great limit HE player who grinded the tough games at the Stardust and GN when the biggest games in town were 20-40 limit HE.

Over the past 3 months or so I had the pleasure of playing LHE with her at the Borgata. I knew she was a professional player back in the days with so many great players that are stars in the poker world now. I had no idea just how much of an impression she has left on everyone.
I didn't play many pots with her, which is typically a sign of me regarding one as a solid player. I never observed her complain about a bad beat, in fact on one of the few pots I played (and luckily won) with her, the first thing she said was that she made a mistake in the hand. A sure sign of the thought process of a good player.

RIP Cissy
It was a pleasure playing cards with you and you will be missed.

Thanks for sharing.

It sounds like she was one of the "early" guard. I think a lot of us would like to have a full life, and happiness, in playing poker.

Rest In Peace Cissy.

RIP. It's especially sad when we lose women in poker, as there are too few of them, imho. Touching story by JH as well. Thoughts with her family and friends.

I could never beat Cissy. I could beat Bottoms but not Cissy. I hated to see her in my game. I never once saw her crack. She was one tough player.
