RIP Chip.

I never got the chance to play with him, but I always enjoyed watching him on TV. He was not only a great player, but always seemed to conduct himself with class and dignity. A lot of the "superstars" of the game could learn a lot from him.

The same could be said of any succesful person that ever lived. To get to the top of any profession you have to beat others. I dont know why you feel the need to attack him now.

Its always sad when a life is lost. I feel sorry for his family. RIP Chip.

Chip truly seemed like a good man, from each and every account you will ever hear, from the countless people who've met him throughout the years. As a poker player, Chip is the kind of man one should strive to be, both in regards to his playing ability, and his demeanor. I have always respected Chip, maybe even took his personality for granted, in such a day and age where showmanship continues to dominate the poker world. I'm sure we all have, a little bit. And when something like that is taken away from us, we appreciate it a little bit more.

At the end of the day, how would we truly like to remembered? Does it matter? Sure it does. Because when I heard that Chip died and I saw TJ's speech about a man who he never heard say a bad thing about anyone, it truly reminded me, and reinforced the idea of class and being a good person. And that is what kind souls and good persons leave when they die. It effects the next man, and the man next to him, in its own small little way, and when that man is a man who spoke and lived before the eyes of millions, those small ways grow to be so much more. This is what it means to be a celebrity, who was a good person. That counts for something. It really does.
