Poker was much different back then, and his passing just reminds me how life keeps moving forward and things change. I was as shocked as I was jealous of his WSOPME run. He was very aggressive, but nothing "special" back then and when he made it big a few years later it really hit home for me, as far as how much I ****ed my life up. I'll miss those days, and I haven't seen him since then, but I always wanted to say hi if I did see him again. Guess I won't get that chance.

I used to play in all those daily's as well and remember when Amir first started playing. Like you said, aggressive...perhaps overly so, and nothing special.
But.....
Amir always struck me as the guy who was paying attention to what was going on...and learning and soaking everything up.
It surprised me too how good he got.....but it really shouldn't have. It was pretty obvious he was learning more every time he played.
And the thing most impressive was it seemed to at least some extent he improved the person he was. Thats very evident by the comments in this thread...how much he influenced people and the lengths he went to in order to treat everyone well.
